Journal From Your Grandfather

One thing I really wish I could have is something or someway to get to know my Grandfather better. Unfortunately he passed away when I was a young child an have very few memories of him. I know he fought for out country in WWII and even went MIA for a couple months in Europe. I know he was a great man cause he raised my mother to be a great woman who in turn raised my brother and I. I just wish I could if given the chance to hear about him an his stories from his own words. I thought about it an Ive been thinking a lot lately about an idea Ive had. Who knows what my future holds but one thing I plan to start soon is a hand written journal. I plan on only writing in it only so often to update how my life an the world around me has evolved as well as any major events in my life or the world. Who knows maybe I'll live long enough to see my grand kids marry or maybe I'll pass before there even born. One thing though is that if my grand son or daughter are as curious as me then I hope they can appreciate the idea I had with this journal.

Do any of you guys or gals have something similar from a grandparent or ever thought of something along the lines of what Id like to do?
