Judge Dredd: Mega City One

I still want Dredd as a major character. If it focuses on too many other characters, I will be disappointed.

I also hope it's nothing like Gotham :D

:wolverine

...anyway, yeah, as long as they keep in mind that it's Mega City-One who is really the central star, just like in the comics, I think all else should fall into place. In one of Judge Dredd's most acclaimed stories, "America", the main characters are America Jara and Bennet Beeny and is told from the point of view of Beeny. I can see some episodes done in that structure.

Gotham drove me off with it's consistent mediocrity and dragging storyline so I do hope it is not another Gotham.

Fair enough. I just want to say the reason I suggest Gotham is basically for its structure of being this ensemble show that deals with a "main cop"(Gordon) and others in the force dealing with different strange and bizarre characters/villains in a high-crime city, which sounds to me somewhat similar the premise of Judge Dredd:

Please bring back Anderson too.

Figured he would, it's not like he's doing movie after movie and ****.

Urban's been working pretty steadily ever since the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He didn't become a huge star, but he's gotten decent roles pretty consistently. He did Bones in Star Trek, plus roles in Bourne Supremacy, Pete's Dragon, Thor: Ragnarok. Dude's gotten his away around some big franchises and films.

Urban was in Supremacy, Edgar Ramirez was in Ultimatum. Those movies have had some damn good actors as the "silent assassin antagonists," lol.

But yes, I agree Urban's career is fine. He was never on track to be an A-list movie star, but he's had good-sized roles in a lot of big movies and continues to do so.

Yup it was Supremacy. But it was 13 years ago, and I'm getting old, so gimme a break :) .

His career has had some lulls in the last 10 years, but it seems to have picked up for him post Star Trek Beyond. He did a really great job as Bones.

He's come a long way from playing Caesar on Hercules and Xena :D

I think the benefit to Urban returning to the role is that since he is in his 40s, you can play around a bit with Dredd gradually getting older and dealing with that over his career. One of the cool things about the Dredd comics is the writers have actually had Dredd age in real time as to how the book is published.

Yeah I honestly would never have pegged anyone from those shows to go on to have successful Hollywood careers, so I say bravo to anyone who has. Lucy Lawless has done just fine for herself as well.

I didn't either until I happened to fall on that picture. But hey thanks Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. Your cheesy syndicated fantasy shows got the ball rolling on Ryan Gosling :D .

But anyway, book Urban as Judge Dredd for this show and it's must see. Yeah, you should build up and showcase other characters, but Dredd should still be an anchoring point of sorts. You don't even have to say it's a continuation of the 2012 movie, but I think most fans would want to see Urban back as Dredd.

I think you do that, that automatically gives the show a nice hook and edge to tune in. Dredd wasn't a very successful movie in theaters, but it does well online and with the Netflix crowd. So you want to sort of play to their tastes.

Jeremy Renner guest-starred in a episode of Angel, and now he's an Oscar nominee. You'd be surprised how many now big names started out doing cheesy 90's/early 00's shows.

How dare you try to take that credit away from the Mickey Mouse Club. ;)
