Judge Dredd Reboot!!

I'm in the film business and I have no f-ing idea what that means, sounds like damage control. No he is not fired, it's just not a regular shoot and he's still involved just, kinda?

I don't know any director that agrees to that type of deal. It's quite simple. They didn't like the job Pete Travis was doing, quietly let him go, and now the writers and producers are taking over the movie.

This is not new. Directors have had the movie taken away from them in post-production before.

This was always gonna be Garlands movie, and Travis was just a work for hire because Garland couoldnt direct. Now when the shooting is done, Garland can make the film he wants to make.

Why couldn't Garland direct the movie then you know? Not like screenwriters never become first time directors.

The exec producers didnt want a first time director?

Whatever the case is I'm not worried at all. Garland sounds way more knowledgeable about the character and hyped about this story and film anyways so I think it is in good hands.

and there goes any hope for this, either the director wanted it to be a high "artsy" film or the producer/writer wanted a dumbed down pg-13 film
Pete Travis is a director-for-hire with no artistic merit at all, and with Alex Garland and John Wagner being among the producers I can say they don't want PG-13.

So when the hell are we going to see a trailer for this movie?

It's going to be released 12 months from now, so, I'd say a teaser would debut sometime the first half of next year at the earliest.

Teaser may even be delayed with all these goings on, I was worried about the movie anyway, now my anticipation has dropped, we'll see I guess.

I couldnt find this thread for some reason. I had to google it.

I'm slightly worried. Since the Empire mag we really havent gotten anything at all... is the movie dead?

I've had mixed feelings for each new photo and so I really want to see a trailer..Or at least set footage of Dredd in action in Mega City!!

And in every photo he has his helmet on! At least thats another positive too!

I think they have confirmed Urban will not be seen without the helmet?

Hope that's the case at any rate.

Ron Perlman for Judge Dredd, the Dark Judges for the villains, the Angel family or at least Mean Machine for the secondary badguy, no goofy sidekicks.

I don't know who'd be a good Judge Anderson.

I always thought Judge Dredd would make a great Grand Theft Auto style video game, imagine a free roam Mega City One.

DROKK!!!

Ron Perlman would make an interesting Judge Dredd. My wife and I enjoy his acting work on Sons of Anarchy and my wife is a huge Hell Boy fan. The original movie with Stallone is kind of underrated though. Very good.
