This is much better. Cleaner lines on this one. I just wish GL's left shoulder wasn't cut off or that it had more of an alpha gradient.

Had to go with my favorite Green Lantern Corp member..

I love it! Ch'p's my fourth favorite GL (after Kilowog, Kyle and Hal).

Here's my non-entry. I'm not much of an artist, so I just colored a line drawing I found online (thus my not entering this in the contest seriously), but I wanted to get into the spirit of Green Lantern-ing.

just got back from holiday and yeah thats exactly what I mean - I have seen it in other threads before and I think I might even have been pm'ed here once (that might be a different site though) I could actually understand if it was for money but its just a friendly contest - like I said Ill always enter a piece if I have one that qualifies

I think egarza means that something like the texture of the pants doesn't follow the shape of the legs.

I noticed that right after I submitted. I forgot to rotate the texture parallel with each leg. If thats what hes talking about then I concur.

Yeah man thats what Im saying. Its just symantics.

Heres one I did today where I made sure to rotate the texture to go alond with each leg.
Unless you are working with a 3d program first, its really arduous to wrap a texture in PS. I basically just use the liquify feature to do so.

Not actually satisfied, I was planning on starting all over again, but since I won't have much time 'til the end of the month, just decided to post it as it is.

As I said before, I don't really like GL Corps, so I went for the Black Lantern crew and brought a brand new member, heh.

Well thats def an original idea. Its trippy lookin cuz with the strong black outline he kinda has a stained glass look to him Which is pretty cool.
I totally have "thriller" stuck in my head now. I imagine GL zombie MJ would use the ring to make some crazy beats..........if only.

Seriously? The strong outline was one of the main reasons I was planning to start it all over... tried to do something cool leaving them unerased, but in the end those lines were just annoying me.

Anyway, good to know it worked for someone

Here's my entry, hope you like it :

A few notes: I based this initially on the pose from the Alex Ross cover (I went for a space background rather than clouds), and like a few I have done before of this type of pic, it's a blend of photo manipulation and 'wacom painting'.

For the costume design I wanted to stay close to the comics look, but decided against the classic white gloves as they just seem remarkably impractical.
