Anyone else worried they will go with the new "more accurate" look for the dinos?

God imagine being the guy who follows Spielberg? Like I know other directors have done Jurrassic Park but everyone has forgotten about them.
-While I would like to see the origianl three (Dern, Neil, Goldblum) back, I just can't see how they can do it without it being forced. Umm...maybe the CIA are asking them to investigate...but that's essentially the same premise as the two sequels.
They're saying bring back Tim, seeing as how he's become a pretty good actor as of late, to lead the thing. Add a couple thespians and a couple good actors/actresses that are also eye candy, and you're set.

They're casting the film now, since filming is supposed to start next month. We ought to know within weeks who's coming back and who's fresh to the franchise.
For some reason, I just want Laura Dern back. Sam Neill pretty much ruled himself out years ago (but money can talk).
Honestly? No. Most of the images like above aren't accurate to the fossil evidence at all - they're totally hypothetical illustrations. For one, there isn't evidence that the T REX had feathers. There's evidence that earlier dinosaurs related to it did, but that isn't enough to confirm for the Rex specifically. Secondly, the Cretaceous period was far warmer than earlier periods, meaning that animals wouldn't need as much insulation as previous generations. Third, its a misconception that most dinosaurs had "feathers", period. There's evidence of proto-feathers, which is largely different than what you see in that picture and think of when you hear the word feather. A dinosaur of the T Rex's size, in a warm climate, would over heat and die if it were covered in feathers like that. At the most, scientists postulate (from what I've read) that it's possible baby Rexes had a thicker proto-feather covering (based on evidence found in distant cousins), but as the the Rex grew, it would lose those feathers. At most, scientists think that an adult Rex may have retained a very light coating of proto-feathers, similar in size and thickness to the light amount of hair elephants have.
So no, I doubt we'll ever see anything like that on screen. Our childhoods are safe.![]()
As far I know filming does not film next month. They are renting out the studio/faculties next month through November for prep work.
This is probably one of the most forced franchises around. I mean i still love the first, used to really enjoy the 2nd but haven't for years and never enjoyed the 3rd. At least with other franchises some of the sequels can stand on their own at least...
I thought that about the Planet of the Apes movies (where the original was only worth watching), but that changed with Rise of the Apes. Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa just really nailed the character aspect of the prequel, crafted mostly real characters (especially Caesar) and really turned the franchise around. Rupert Wyatt put everything together magnificently, but the script did a lot of heavy lifting.
Jaffa & Silver have earned my trust, and I hope they gave Jurassic Park 4 the kind of boost they imbued Rise of the Apes with. Make me care about the human characters and give us good action to complement it.
Rise of the apes was essentially a reboot/re-imagination though that can pretty much stand on it's own separate from the original series. This movie is Jurassic Park: 4, it's a direct continuation of the last 3.
