Jurassic Park IV

I agree as well Sam Neil and the one chick really need to come back and do the next trilogies as well, but again if ur lookin to start a new trilogy maybe new blood is in order..

I'm at odds with the T-Rex being the baddie, but I can see why hes the most notorious dinasour ppl know..Not many ppl know much about the Spinasorous, but its a great way to interject him.
Secondly, more dinasours of variety get away from the norm..Ice age creatures(sabretooth tiger, etc),more aquatic creatures..Megladon(can get that Jaws flavor) and theres some others that are huger than that.
Raptors,Im tired of the Raptors some other new villains is much needed

More than anything there needs to be a solid story,a reason for things to happen a reason for ppl to be in that situation etc..Maybe,have something ala LOST...Commercial Airliner crashes on a 'new' JP island or something..

I always thought my ideas for JPIV were pretty good.

I say we get back to the essentials. Jurrasic PARK. New company, new characters. Years after the original debacle, a team finally recovers enough samples to create their own dinosaurs. A new company, by lining the right pockets manages to get approval for a zoo. They create a massive INDOOR park, right on the outskirts of Las Vegas (where else would a tourist attraction like real dinosaurs be?) Of course this is not without controversy. There are people who protest the dangerous nature of the park (could be a good opportunity for cameoes to connect the films. Show Alan Grant and/or Ian Malcolm on Larry King speaking out against the new park). There are PETA-extremists protesting the treatment of the dinosaurs (made simply to be shown off), etc. The park, none the less, is a massive success. Of course, that is until one of the protestors sabotage the park's security. The dinosaurs escape from their pens. Of course, being as this happened before, and the park is in the mainland, people are prepared. The Nevada national guard quarantines the park. No one in or out. The movie can focus on a group of survivors trying to avoid the massacre until the dinosaurs die of starvation and they can finally escape, all while on the outside, the world's largest tourist city is at risk of dinosaurs getting free.

In my mind, it would be more like Dawn of the Dead. The scope of this movie would be large, months. This group of survivors can only get out once the dinosaurs have exhausted all of their resources and died and so the survivors have to set up their own civilization to outlast them.

Which is what makes Vegas a perfect setting. Where else could something so grand be than the vast desert of Las Vegas? Where else could you get approval for such a thing?

Plus, imagine the epic nature of the movie. Man vs nature. Its practically a bio-dome and there they are, a civilization of humans, trapped, trying to outlive dinosaurs. The themes of extinction and natural selection could be brilliantly executed.

Plus with the closed-in nature of the dome, this could actually be kind of scary on a claustrophobic level. Think of Quarantine...the way the military sealed off the building so quickly. That was one of the scariest elements to me. That could be this movie.

T-rex should be the dominate dino in JP not the spinosauras. Also if joe johnston is doing JP 4 I hope he doesn't get the idea in his head to take down the raptors next. If there should be a T-rex vs. Spinosaurus rematch and the T-rex wins wouldn't that lead to the question: how come he didn't win in the first place?

Plot Induced Stupidity, pretty much. The first bite the T-Rex took on the Spinosaur's neck would've been almost instant death, but Jack Horner, a paleontologist notorious for his views of T-Rex being a scavenger and not a predator, wanted the Spinosaurus to easily kill the T-Rex, so that's the sole reason. Horner's well-known for this ridicuously theory and has been subject to a lot of criticism for it.

The T-Rex in JP3 was obviously a juvenile too, just compare it's size with it's brethren of the first two movies, obviously not fully grown. An adult T-Rex at full size would've killed the Spinosaurus easily, and this wouldn't even be a discussion if the original T-Rex from the first movie fought him; the original T-Rex would've destroyed the Spinosaurus without even trying.

I look forward to the new JP comics from IDW Comics coming out this Summer. It seems Universal is trying to respark public interest in JP, with the new comics and the Blu-ray releases of the first two movies slated for the end of the year. Hope it all helps to make JP popular again.

Any word on what the story is going to be in the comics?

I love JP1 and it is also one of my top 10 of all time. Fantastic movie. Anyways, I either want them to redo the trilogy and stick very close to the books, there are only 2 books and they could come up with their own third, or I would like them to do JP4 with the original cast as sort of a farewell that JP3 did not do properly.

Maybe for the fourth one or at the end of a new trilogy kill off all the original cast members. Or destroy the dino island(s).

I read somewhere that's it's take place about ten years after the first one and Tim wants to open up the park or something like that, I don't remember exactally what it said.

I'm sure most everyone will hate this. But I say take it post-apocalyptic. It's the future, war has ravaged the earth and before the war corporations had been experiementing with creating their own dinosaurs for whatever reason...but then the war hit and corporations and governments fell. The world is chaos and the dinosaurs ended up escaping from their cages. So now the human survivors try to survive in a harsh world where dinosaurs also roam :P

I know this sounds obvious but if the title is Jurassic Park the next movie or trilogy should revolve around the park. I hope they don't create some dinosaur movie that has little to nothing about the park or just cast some of the original cast and have the story not even take place on the dino islands.
Maybe they could do a prequel to Jurassic Park.

Ok, how about this. In my post-apoc storyline...the survivors learn of a "haven" type community underground where life is doing well. But in order to get there they must travel across this harsh and dangerous landscape and in the third act they discover the haven is underneath an old Jurassic Park that was shut down. So the group have to make it across the entire facility to get to haven.

my thoughts exactly. I love the first two-well, I love the first JP. TLW is pretty good. Same as JP3, it's alright. But they are horrid adaptations - ESPECIALLY the second. I still call we bring back Sam as Grant though:o

I'd love it if they'd bring back Isla Nublar from the first film and we could re-visit it. Supposedly it was destroyed according to the cut boardroom meeting scene in TLW, but I think it can be retconned easily enough by saying the island was never destroyed because the plans to demolish it fell through and were unsuccessful.

2010 is shaping to be a good year for JP fans, it'd be nice to get an official announcement regarding production of the fourth movie at some point to top it all off.

I like your idea, it just needs a good setup. Here's my trilogy outline...

JP4: sPecial unit is set up to track down illegally cloned dinosaurs being sold on the black market all over the world. Team arrives at a large, remote, private menagerie and cloning facility owned by a rich *****ebag and find themselves being hunted by his security team as they make their way through the labs and paddocks.

JP5: Cloning of prehistoric animals becomes more widesPread and their success has allowed certain legal exceptions for zoos and laboratories. When scientists inadvertently resurrect an extinct virus that's relatively harmless to dinosaurs but deadly to humans however, the only hope of curing it lies in obscure footnotes detailing it's prior discovery in the original Jurassic Park. The team from the previous film must head to the original islands and find the cure if there's any hope of saving mankind.

JP6: 10 years after the events of the previous film, 95% of the human race has gone extinct and the world has drastically changed. Creatures from every epoch of the Earth's history roam it together in a fierce struggle to survive dangerous new ecosystems. Equally dangerous are the roving factions of weapon collectors seeking to start a new world order and willing to kill any men and kidnap any women who don't join.

So there's my little trilogy idea.

IMO it'd be best to end the series on a good note with JP4 with the original cast re-united, but I'd be open to two more movies depending on the storylines that could be done.
