Jurassic Park IV

I seriously doubt this movie will be made. I've lost faith in universal.

Michael Chrichton's dead made it impossible for this movie to be made. But I have hope...

I wonder if we could be getting the real Velocioraptors. I mean it is not time to get it right?

If we ever see Velociraptors more accurate to the real thing in the JP series, they'll probably just be another strain of the genus.

I remember reading that Crichton's death back in 2008 put the project on hold indefinitely and one of the producers said maybe it was the end. But it seems this year we're getting quite a bit of new JP stuff, it seems the studio is trying to generate interest in the series again.

I don't hate it either, but it's easily the weakest of the series so far, IMO.

The thing that frustrates me is that there’s so much potential in another movie. Joseph Mazzello who played Tim in the first two movies, emerged as an amazing actor with Spielberg’s and Hanks The Pacific, so to put him in a lead for the fourth JP movie will be great direction. Imagine that Tim is now a grown up paleontologist and mix up something whit it for the script.

PS: How all begin:

I wouldn't mind seeing a 4th JP movie. I loved the first one. I really enjoyed the second one, although not as much as the first. The third one was okay, but not nearly on par with either of the first two.

For casting/character? Bring back all the surviving characters from the first movie, and hopefully the actors who portrayed them as well (with the kids, you can probably get away with recasting them if the original actors don't want to do the film). Then add some fresh new characters. Some of them to be dino-fodder, others to be recurring characters in any future JP films.

As for plot? That's a tough one. I've read some interesting ideas on this thread. I kinda like that biodome/zoo idea. Or some plot that sends the original characters back to the original islands. I would say a rescue mission, but that's been done.

The Dawn Of The Dead idea isn't bad either. Maybe the dinosaurs break free from the lab/zoo, possibly by some animal rights eco terrorists. A team of heavely armed big game hunters and dinosaur experts are sent out to either recapture them or eliminate them. But they're breeding far more quickly than anticipated, and have been genetically altered to grow to maturity within days. Thus it becomes less of a case of just rounding them up and more of a case of multiplication. Like tribbles with teeth.

Or an unsuspecting ship bring back couple of eggs by mistake and they hatch in a warehouse of a crowed city.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Mazzello's a very good actor and I can see Tim as the lead of the next movie, although I'd prefer Grant and Malcolm to return for JP4 and sharing the leading role.

I hope that we have some good news soon.

There's still material in Crichton's books that I think could be used to create a great 4th movie and provide an end to the series. I recall in Jurassic Park that the kids noticed some Raptors sneaking aboard boats heading for the mainland after their cruisers stopped near the Rex enclosure. The movie never touched on this. I also recall some special ingredient in the dinosaur chow that kept them well and healthy.

For Jurassic Park IV:

The dinosaurs in Isla Nublar have been without this component of their food and have started manifesting whatever disease/sickness it was intended to supress. They have also been reaching neighboring islands, spreading the illness resulting in the quarantine of small towns there and such. So the original cast has to go to Isla Nublar to recove the research used to develop the food source the Park fed their dinosaurs and hopefully devise a cure to this sickness the dinosaurs are spreading.

We can also have InGen involved somewhere in here, too, to bring some closure to that company.

I think is would be great to see the dinosaurs somehow get onto the mainland. Somewhere in South America. The beginning of the first book detailed the events of the raptors getting loose on the mainland. Expand upon that idea with more dinosaurs, send out a team of scientist, etc and I think you got a movie. But m aybe they can start there and go back to Isla Nublar to find the source of what is happening.

Isla Nublar was said to be destroyed in the cut boardroom scene in The Lost World, but I think it can still be up and thriving if the plans to demolish the island and it's facilities never went through and never finalized.

I really want this franchise to finish strong, there are so many possibilities that could happen, and i dont believe theyve finished it right. So yes, i think the fourth should just end everything all together, get everyone from the past movies together and make the 4th one as epic as could be.

I agree, DC. But I also wouldn't mind another trilogy, if the scripts could be right. Interesting about Mazzello, though. That friggin' kid grew up!

That's exactly how I feel, this series needs a proper finale, which JP3 definitely isn't.

I hope it includes them. I'm curious to see if the scene of the T-Rex breaking into the Visitor's Center rotunda was really ever filmed.

I've read about those. I'm interested about the much-talked about scene where Lex is riding a Triceratops in the Triceratops enclosure.
