In both Jurassic World and this years Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the focus is on new hybrid dinosaurs cooked up in a lab, with Indominus Rex playing the role of main villain in the former and the Indoraptor set to terrify us all in the latter. But in the trilogys third installment, dont expect to see another new hybrid monster.
Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World and co-wrote Fallen Kingdom, will be returning to co-write and direct Jurassic World 3, which already has a 2021 release date. Trevorrow recently described JW3 as a science thriller, comparing it to the original Jurassic Park, and he just shared more on the back to basics approach.
Im looking forward to, in the third film, getting a little back into the Paleontological, wild animal, true dinosaur nature of all of it, Trevorrow told Total Film. He additionally noted that the Indoraptor will be the final hybrid dino in this particular trilogy.
Emily Carmichael will write the script with Colin Trevorrow. Steven Spielberg will of course return to executive produce, alongside Trevorrow.
Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley also return as producers.
The trilogy-ender will arrive on June 11, 2021.
