Jurassic World - Part 10

One detail I loved about this theme was seeing people like Zach more interested in looking at their iPhones than they were looking at the T-Rex or the Mosasaur.
Yeah, that was a nice touch. I get the impression the older brother had already been to JW and thus was all 'been there, done that'. If I remember correctly, even though the older brother was bored by the dinosaurs, and having his mind elsewhere in general, Claire said visitor attendance numbers were margianally up from the previous year. But the executives were worried about the place falling away, and that indifferent mood spreading to other people. Thus the i-Rex was their attempt to keep profit and attendance figures up before that happened.

I actually thought Dan Murrell made some great points.

True but i think he was going against the tide and seemed like he wanted to hate it. For a sequel it was solid when compared to the other 2 turds and a really entertaining summer film in a down year for movies.

Would have to agree with that statement. It just worked for me better than most kids in these movies. I was able to connect better even with the kids.

I liked the boys more than expected & didn't find them annoying. Of course I'm used to Ty from Insidious as well as Iron Man 3 & he was fantastic in both so my reservations were more so towards the older brother.

Honestly, I think this is a case where everyone did a great job in their respective role (ala the first two) & I truthfully wouldn't replace anyone.

And did I mention how gorgeous Bryce Dallas Howard is? I did? Okay, just had to throw it in there again. :woot:

Surprisingly I didn't think the kids were all that awful.

D'Onofrio's character, on the other hand :barf:.

He made some great points about the condition of current blockbusters, but the question was "Fun or Failure?" And I don't think this movie is a failure at all. While not perfect by any means, it definitely leans more towards fun than failure.

Jerks can be good characters.

True but the character was cheesey from the first frame when he Came strutting up To pratt after the raptors training. He wasnt as memorable as roland from lost world but he was what this movie needed, a meathead doofus who just saw weapons and was too stupid to know better.

I admit i entered the theatre to watch Jurassic World as a skeptic, will this film be as much fun as the first Jurassic film made almost 22
years ago?
Well i was pleasantly surprised .Sure some of it was predictable but i cant deny how Director
Colin Trevorrow and writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver wereable to comeup with some truly suspenseful moments and edge of your
seat thrills.Chris Pratt was great as animal expert and Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady. He and Bryce Dallas Howard played well off each other
JW is a true Summer blockbuster.

Scale of 1-10 an 8½

This was a nice surprise actually. Wasn't hyped for it at all. Whilst there was some awkward moments i thought it had a lot of great things in it. It made dinosaurs scary again. Some real tense moments.

The Raptor squad is ****ing awesome.

I love this old unused JP poster.

I adore it.

You know, I'm happy this film broke several box office records. Dinosaurs are the ****. Although the last two sequels were weak, it couldn't have happen to a better franchise.

Wow, this movie came out of nowhere! I thought it was a great thrill ride, and Chris Pratt proves why he's the hottest commodity in Hollywood right now. Chris plus the nostalgia factor have fueled this movie.

I think I've upped my thoughts on what Star Wars will do in December based on this. You saw a bit of a microcosm of this with TMNT last year, that performed better than anyone expected, but nowhere close to this monstrous (no pun intended) level.

Universal is killing it this year. I think Disney may end up no 2 again after this, depending on how IN and Out and Star Wars go. Tomorrowland was a big letdown for them.

All in all Jurrassic World was terrific. Sorry I liked it better than Mad Max, go ahead and flame away if you want. But it just goes to show that those that harp on a movie if it doesn't get 90% or better reviews on RT, that has nothing to do with public perception. This movie wasn't even certified fresh.

I give it 8.5/10.

Brand name appeal/nostalgia, an enticing concept, a 14 year wait and the action man of the hour...

$209 million!!

Amazing. :wow:
Oh it got the record now? Awesome!! Wonder what the final gross will look like. I think a good proportion of those who have seen it enjoyed it.

I never thought i would cry for raptors. Pratt's storyline with them was the best part (IMO).

Yes! #1! #1! #1! I've always thought that The Avengers didn't deserve the #1 spot. Come Dec and Star Wars may smash this record again.

Yeah I figured they'd wait for the actuals before confirming the record. No way was Universal going to announce the record and then have the actuals come under.
