This movie was EPIC! I went in expecting something good and got something great...so many perfect throwback moments to the first while providing a new & fresh feel. I give it an A+....and imo the kids weren't as annoying as I thought they'd be, acting was actually very good.

One of the few times a sequel has came over a decade later than expected & has actually delivered the goods.
Fury Road already did it this year. :cwink:

I agree!

take a look at this

Now this is CINEMATOGRAPHY

Can I take my 4 year old son to this? Not bc it's scary, but are the scenes with dinosaurs few and far between? He's seen all the other ones and has enjoyed the dinosaur scenes immensely, always asking questions.

I wouldn't lot of blood in here I thought

Haha well played but I haven't seen it so I can't critique. But, to my credit I didn't say JW was the only sequel to accomplish that fact, just one of the few. :sly:

I know people are not a happy about this new Jurassic movie but Like the idea they kinda doing a movie where its not using old cast members too draw in people too a not as good movie as 1. I like that Ron Howards daughter messed up and it not being a mans fault only again. Why not let the problem be started by the geek women scientist like in Deep Blue Sea where the scientist got eaten and the Brother LL Cool J lived.

So there's a Spider-Man comic where he teams up with Devil Dinosaur and Moonboy. Near the end Devil Dinosuar fights this other mutated dinosaur called Demon Dinosaur. The first thing that hit me was T-Rex vs Indominus Rex from JW. It hit me so hard I immediately paused and came here to talk about it.

I just got back from seeing the movie and I loved it, not only did it do a great job but it also reverted me to being a child again and saying what I thought the dinosaurs would say at certain moments now i'm going to watch the first to Jurassic Park it made me really love dinosaurs again. I don't know why people hate this but whatever I only saw bits n pieces of trailers because trailers show too much now a days. I went to the theater not knowing what I would expect and was completely blown away and invested in every scene

Ok so this movie was so cool. I don't care it had it all. Made me feel like a kid! That T. rex ! The suspense and the indominus! Pratt wasn't that bad and the raptors were handled well. You felt for the dinosaurs which I loved. Watching the T. rex kick ass was fist pumping good but then when it was getting wrecked I felt that jp3 sadness but then it all worked out in the end.

Blue was awesome just absolutely amazing. Then that ending was epic! Wished they used the theme a bit more tho. Aw well.

I loved the movie though 3 things annoyed me/couldn't been done better:

Why are people running out of and away from all the stores when all the pterodactyls are attacking?

Why did giant alligator jump out of the water to get the Spliced Dino? That just seemed like they couldn't find a way to win.

How did Spliced Dino get her tracker off of her back? Her arms were longer then your usually T-Rex but didn't seem long enough for her to use her claws. Actually now that I think of it, did she rub up against something to get it off?

For a sequel, would like to see them switch up the character personalities a little.

If we do get another Sequel I want to see Dilophsaursuses more involved in some way.

Just came back from seeing it. Some quick thoughts:

- The pacing was a little off, it dragged a little in the middle.
- The kids were fine they didn't bother me.
- Did we need the whole parent's divorce scene?
- Both Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt were good.
- The whole Vincent D'Onofrio character and sub-plot just didn't work for me.
- Really liked the scene when the kids went to the visitor center. With the main theme playing in the background, that stirred some feelings.
- The last act was especially good, crowd-pleasing at its finest, I almost clapped upon seeing the T-Rex.

A question though, where was Dr. Wu going at the end, what was the plan there?

I for one loved the Indominus. It was terrifyingly villainous and smart. From the get go, the way to get's loose to start you know its cunning. Oh and the way it interacted with the other dino's in the park was really neat. In particular when it begins to interact with the pterodactyl's, you get a sense it's using them for it's own benefit. Also loved the way it was introduced to the kids, it was so creepy and well done.

It wasn't interacting with the pterosaurs, it roared at them then tried to bite like three of them. The only dinosaurs it interacted with were the raptors

So it's looking like this will surpass AoU's OW! :woot: Who would have guessed that?

I really didn't like this much. I could use both hands to count the "eh" moments. The Bryce character was annoying and DUMB. She always feels several steps behind the audience: the last one to realize the Indominus is intelligent (when she should have been the first), the last one to know that you don't ****ing yell when you have a monster around, and she even takes her sweet time to watch over dying dinos while her nephews are still missing and in mortal peril. The big brother was a lame character and that Jeep thing was bull. The militarized raptors idea made whoever thought that would work look stupid. The high point was the Jake Johnson "I have a boyfriend" joke. I really was expecting better.

I saw this tonight and I liked it. It's still not as good as the original but it's a fun summer blockbuster type of movie. The characters were okay but none where as interesting or as compelling as the original characters such as Grant and Ian. I thought the CGI was used to much for the Dino's and I would have loved to have seen more animatronics. Also the Ingen and divorced parents sub plots were kinda weak. But the action is great as well as the call backs to the original movie. Plus seeing a functioning park in the way Hammand visioned is very cool to see from a fan stand point. Also, the climax between I- Rex and you know who is worth the price of admission :).

My rankings for all the Jurassic Park movies

Jurassic Park- 9/10

Jurassic World- 8/10

Jurassic Park The Lost World- 7/10

Jurassic Park 3- 6/10

Now that people are seeing it, can I just reiterate how gruesome the [blackout]death of Zara was? Swallowed whole and alive in the belly of a giant beast's digestive track? Only Eddie Carr and Dieter might have gotten it worse.[/blackout]

Another gruesome death in the series was Muldoon's. While it isn't shown (which is the beauty of it) just picture what that Raptor is doing to him. Hearing his screams and thinking back to the earlier line by Grant in the film about "you are alive when they start to eat you". Very gruesome and scary.

Yea there were some gruesome deaths here.
Claire's assistant's death with pretty brutal. As well as some of the folks killed by the I- Rex and Raptors.

Having little to no expectations with this film, and in fact expecting to be disappointed, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. It stirred old feelings of me when I used to watch Jurassic Park as a small child. Also Chris Pratt is one charismatic mother*****. The last 30 minutes ruled.

4/5

I have just come back from the movie, and I'll post something more in depth later. But overall, I liked it. Definitely worthy of the Jurassic franchise, and leagues better than JP3. However it's not without quibbles of course. I'm leaning towards something like 7/10 at the moment.
