Justice League Auditions Begin

interesting that they have a Vancouver casting director. That might seem to indicate that part of the film is going to be shot in and around Vancouver, where conveniently enough, a certain Superman shoots a TV show

That crossed my mind but i remembered that x men was shot there and it has a lot of filmaking advantages in costs and distance from LA as opposed to say australia

I thought this movie was dead or wasn't happening.

So what's the truth around here?

Motown?

wishful thinking from some Singer purists. There has be no news at all to suggest the film is dead especially with this news now

I've always wanted to see a JLA movie, but one done correctly. I have very little hope for a SR sequel now, but I sincerely hope that this project doesn't screw up BATMAN BEGINS 3.

Those sides are from other movies. And remember what happened with
"Batman vs. Superman".

most big budget films that dont want script leaks use casting sides from other films where there's a similar tone to dialogue. For instance, SR used casting sides from S:TM.

As for B v. S, how is it related here? I remember a script being pitched and WB trying to get Wolfgang Peterson, but I dont ever remember a casting director getting hired.

true, but even if it's not intentionally done for that reason, it would still be a positive factor for him, as opposed to a negative one like shooting in Oz

absolutely and it would work with the 'working around toms' schedule' that robert sanchez was talking about but i don't want to get too many of my hopes up:cwink:

Man, i really don't want them recasting Bale, and for the sake of keeping the peace, don't recast Routh either...

Well, we are getting more info about this one than anything right now either in rumors, or in official news sources like the LA Times. This film is happening. Nothing official has been announced yet however. All indications are that the film is being fast tracked, but again, no official word on it.

But it will happen thats for sure if their aiming for a 2010 release.

I heard 2010 but sure. That just means its really gonna happen unless they bail like they did WW.

They need it for 2009, that is why they are trying to start it now before the union contract negotiations start. So it is being pushed for a 2009 release. They want filming to start by Jan 2008.

From Bluetights JLA sticky thread in the JLA forum:

*Feb 2007 - Husband and wife writing duo the Mulroney's hired to write script, turned in June.
*Latino Review reports George Miller to be director of JL.
*IESB reports Tom Welling will be Superman in upcoming JL movie.
*Production to start January 2008 for a summer 2009 release date.
*IESB reports that Laurence Fishburne is rumored to be playing Martian Manhunter.
*IESB also reports that George Miller has begun storyboard work and a crew has been set for the film.

Justice League has officially begun casting for smaller roles in 3 cities. Susan Shopmaker (The Holiday, Mean Girls), Michelle Allen (TV’s sadly cancelled Dead Like Me).
Also shooting will take place mainly in Canada, with production expected to start in January 2008.

I doubt Bluetights would have created that forum if they didn't know something was up. They were the official forum and website for SR. They got connections. I think they know something that hasn't been released officially.

This just seems way off to me. i don't know what WB is doing. I think the film is going to be motion captur/CGI. That explains George Miller to me. The guy doesn't have this long and great resume, but Happy Feet was very well done and good. I just don't know. The thought of recasting Supes and Bats so soon after their films were out doesn't make any sense, but welling being Supes in the JLA film makes me happy enough. Lets hope this pans out to be good news.

Doesn't have a long and great resume. He was one of the go to guys in the 80's for action. Did Road Warrior and Thunderdome, and Witches of Eastwick. This is not going to be a CGI movie. They are going after him because he is a good action director who can also do drama.

Found this little tidbit that hasn't been posted here yet i think(If it has forgive me). It looks like as of this week a casting director (Susan Shopmaker) has started working on the proposed Justice League feature film.

LOL! you're still in denial Vile?

if it makes you feel any better, seems like Man of Steel is still happening. SHH even made the formal title change to the Superman forums.

its a good time to be a DC movie fan :)

I guess there is some good news then. Maybe if we're lucky the JLA movie will do so poorly that it will go largely unnoticed by people, then we'll continue to get solo movies that will eventually combine into a real JLA movie that wont suck. Then this little re-casted and out of continuty JLA movie they're making now will be forgotten completely.

Unrealstic, but one can dream.

You know they could film Man of Steel and JLA back to back and have them play off each other. Just cast the same Superman for both and do the death of Superman in JLA and have him return in Man of Steel (basicly what Superman Returns should have been)

^ yeah seriously, that's like looking at Spielberg's resume and pulling out Evolution

Wait the front page news is saying this is live action now...

WTF?
