Gyllenhaal's audition for BB was fantastic according David Goyer. He came very closes to Bale. So who knows?
Robert sanchez has just been on the IESB boards and says jake is not batman

Hmm...
I thought Guy Pearce was the one that was rumored for Begins?
In the interviews i've read with Pearce he seems uninterested in playing that kind of role unless Nolan was directing.

BTW according to Supermanhomepage the JL Sydney auditions start this week.

I'm very interested in learning which notable names auditioned in the past few weeks.

Some people who've been to auditions on the imdb.com boards.

My friend just auditioned for JLA

by PresidentNarpin (Mon Sep 10 2007 06:13:15)

My friend's an actor/director. he does a lot of commercials, He's had bit roles in movies and TV shows and played lead in a few small indy films. He just sent me an e-mail saying he auditioned for JLA. Out of respect for him I won't list his name (besides, with all the secrecy he might get into trouble with Warners, and I don't want to screw him over. Anyway, here's what he said,:

"strange stuff these days man, finsihing the movie...and on Thursday went in to screen test for Warner Brothers for the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA movie. Man the secrecy, i didn't even know who I was testing for, and when they sent me "script to read" it was for the JLA, it was script that would just say "protagonist" and "antagonist" and then when I read the script...(they send my clips) it was actually movies liek Good Will Hunting, Few Good Men, Swingers etc....weird stuff man, definitely one of the stranger screen tests I've gone in for, but it shoots in Australia and George "Happy Feet" Miller is directing"

I auditioned today in Boston. It was basically the same as what your friend described... Highly non-specific script sides from various unspecified films. They're clearly anxious about leaks, for certain, but I don't think Warners is going to hunt us down for talking about it... This is pretty standard procedure for the big-budget tentpoles nowadays, I think.

I'll readily admit that my own test went dreadfully, but it was still cool to have auditioned.

Basically a monologue, presumably lifted from "A Few Good Men" like the original poster's friend mentioned. I'm not certain, I'll have to watch that one again, but it seems awfully familiar.

Screw it, I'll just paste it here, I still have the sides. They had me read for "protagonist," of course:

PROTAGONIST You want answers?
ANATAGONIST I think I’m entitled to them.
PROTAGONIST You want answers?!
ANTAGONIST I want the truth.
PROTAGONIST People like you can’t handle the truth. We live in a belligerent world. A world that has to be protected by those like you. Who else is going to do it? You? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the weak and you curse the strong. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that one man’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. We use words like honour, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use ‘em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I’d prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand and fight. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you’re entitled to.

Clearly not from the actual "JLA" script, but marginally appropriate nonetheless.

I auditioned last week. It's interesting to hear about others and their experiences at the audition. Did anyone else that auditioned have to tell and funny and/or sad story before they said their lines?

Casting Notices + Info

by badgonegood (Fri Sep 21 2007 09:00:08)

Myself and two friends went to the audition about a week ago. This week is the last week for casting so just thought I'd post what they were looking for.

"Males, 18-35 years old; Caucasian or African-American
Females, 20-32 years old; any ethnicity.

The aim of this audition process is to learn about the sensibilities, range, humor, delivery and life experience of each actor. We are looking for great actors who enjoy working in an ensemble. (Improvisational skills, theater training and comedy would all be useful.)

We are only looking for physically fit actors with good body types.
All actors must wear form fitting clothes.

We may (time permitting) ask each actor to tell us a story of the funniest thing that ever happened to them and then (time permitting) a sad story . Each story should be no longer than 1 minute.

We will also ask actors to read ONE of the below SHORT scenes, the LONG scenes you can look at, but they will be used for call-back auditions. It's best to read and prepare all the scenes, just in case.

There are no descriptions or set-ups so the actor is required to interpret the scene as they see fit."

I dont think I should say what agency though. There were several scenes we could read. I think most people already posted them. I guess if I get a role I'll let you guys know heh.

By next month we'll have an entire cast and crew.

Interesting. You don't even know what you're auditioning for.

Crew yes. Cast i'm not sure.

I should have been more specific. What I meant was that in a month we will have a complete cast and crew. If this movie is starting production in Feb then they need to have a cast by November. Why? Well...in case Miller needs his stars to get a little better in shape they will need a few months to pump some iron. There's fight and action scenes that they need to train for. Not to mention...reheresals.

I could see Miller and WB disagreeing about that.

WB doesn't have enough time to argue with the director. I think Miller will be given freedom.

I didn't look at it that way. You're right....they really need to get things moving then.:o

Hope that's true but in the past they have shelved other movies involving Superman over casting. It wouldn't surprise if that happens again.

But they didn't have an upcoming strike to worry about.
True.

UPDATE!!

September 8th, 2007

Well, I just got back from my audition in Philly with Mike Lemon for JUSTICE LEAGUE. It went SO amazingly well! I wouldn't change a thing about it. I am confident I gave 110% of myself and it feels good to be able to do that. To be that personal with someone and let them share in your emotions. What an amazing job to have. To be able to touch people that way. People often ask "Why do you want to be an actress?" Well, I can honestly say that I enjoy sharing my emotions. I live for that, to touch someone and make them feel something.. And if I can help get a different perspective across to someone and make them go "Oh yeah, that does make sense to me." That is wonderful. I'm waxing poetic, but I can't help it. I love my job. If you'd like, you can send me some good vibes in the hopes of making a good inpression with Warner Brothers. :) I'd greatly appreciate it. Take care everyone and have a great weekend!

Justice League!

September 11, 2007 on 1:26 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Just got word some actor-friends and I have been requested by Mike Lemon to audition for the new Justice League movie in Philly! It’s pretty much the same guys I keep runnin’ into these days: Dave, Sean, Jayce, Alan and Maxx. We’re carpoolin’ up tomorrow morning and I’m stoked to put my acting chops to the test once again! Good thing I’ve been hittin’ the gym these past six months — maybe I can play a Superhero! We received five sides for the audition and have to pick one and memorize it for Mike. They’re very generic with plenty of room for emotional levels, but not from the actual J.L. script so nothing gets leaked!

Also, still no news about my callback in Pitt with Donna Belajac for “Shannon’s Rainbow.” As of now, we’re shooting for next week, but as with anything in this business, that could change in the next hour!

Speaking of next week, I’m doing a promo on Monday and Tuesday for the Va Pilot commercial I shot last year. All I know is that I get to hold the Will-You-Marry-Me sign again and paint my face red! I’ll also be getting a copy of that Va Pilot commercial soon to toss up on my site, so be on the lookout for that!

Well, until I find out more to share with ya, I need to start memorizing these lines! Thanks for checkin’ me out!

Philly was a HIT!

September 16, 2007 on 2:38 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

The trip to Mike Lemon’s in Philly was a blast and not to mention a complete success! I totally did my thing, nailed the audition and had a great time! It’s so great to read with Mike; he really makes you feel comfortable and gives the actor A LOT when he reads. He really gets into the scene, and that makes all the difference! Now, the tape will get submitted to Warner Brothers and hopefully someone will see me, like me, and book me! Wouldn’t that be nice.

Funny story: I’m just getting back from a weekend vacay in Hatteras with some high school friends, and I walk in the door, bags in hand, and sprawled across the kitchen counter is a newspaper page with my big (red) mug on it! It’s part of a new promo the Virginian-Pilot is doing. I shot a commercial last year for it but I wasn’t aware there’d be pictures as well. Funny seeing that. I’ll try to get a picture of it on here, or at least on my site.

Still waiting for word on “Shannon’s Rainbow.” The work week is starting tomorrow and obviously no one does any work on the weekends, but I look forward to hearing if I’m still in the running! And speaking of tomorrow, classes at FAX are starting up again! I’ve got the Director’s Sampler class on Mondays, Acting 3 on Tuesday and Acting 2 on Thursdays. And my private coaching with Mimi Eisman will be on Wednesdays making my week FULL of acting! Yeehah!

Well I guess that’ll wrap’er up for tonite! Take care, Readers.

-JT
