Look, I have criticised Snyder myself and not like parts of what he has done to DC, but I don't like that he is getting all the blame when WB is highly at fault as well.
Of course they are at fault. For hiring him.

The manager is at fault for hiring a crappy cook. The cook is at fault for giving people diarrhea.

It's really a case of who's fault is it the person who gave the drunk driver the keys or the drunk person who actually drove and crashed

Weird analogy but it's both of them. WB should've known better than to give this to Snyder. Snyder should know how to be a better storyteller and director by now

Snyder and his editor edited the film themselves. Warners might have mandated it, but those two made it incoherent. A better question might be why Warners allowed him to shoot a three hour R-rated script in the first place.

There you go. WB made him do it.

WB did allow him to shoot that in the first place, so that was their choice, they decided that. If they didn't want that why hire him, why allow him. As I said, if you're going to say you believe in a director's vision then stick to it. Otherwise don't make the choice in the first place.

No you’re right. Warners is ahead of him in terms of fault. They hired him. And they kept hiring him after making a divisive Superman film and an incoherent one with Batman. They could’ve (and should’ve) easily have fired him after BvS and delay JL by 6-8 months. Like others have mentioned, Zack is not the only one getting fired over this.

I dunno man. I think he just can't do it. There's something innate in him that prevents him from being able to do it. He isn't a talented director who fell from grace like M. Night. His output has always been consistently mediocre.

Just about everyone is to blame right now over this.

many posters already said WB shouldn't have given him another gig after MoS.

Of course WB is at fault as well. Their fault was giving MOS to Snyder right after he made Legend of guardians and Sucker Punch. After MOS's divisive reaction, they still gave BVS and JL to him. Then the idiot Tsujihara came and mandated the 2 hours run time and the JL's story suffered because of it. I truly hope Tsujhara is also fired along with Snyder.

Let's see how this opening weekend unfolds. *popcorn emoji*

I wouldn’t want any of these third-tier properties to be handled under WB’s current studio climate. The AAA franchises at least have pedigree in the brand where moving forward WB are going to be incredibly cautious and mindful of the talent they hire. Everyone else? Not sure as much care will be there, regardless of how poor JL will do.

Yeah, making a Justice League DARK movie will absolutely be the worst idea for DCEU right now, or the future.

True but he should've tried to learn from criticism. Which even though I hate the movie, I felt he did with Man of Steel, but then he was back on his bull with BvS

Because his sacred vision was gonna ruin them financially? It's a money making studio.

No they should have not.

They probably shouldn't given him MoS after his other 3 movies underpformed critically and financially

I was reacting to more to the current pages of this thread attacking just Snyder. I just think, the reaction to this version of JL is about the choices WB made. This is not really Zack Snyder's movie, ultimately.

Man, this is depressing. I'm positive all those movies DC and WB have in production will be put on indefinite hold.

True but he should've tried to learn from criticism.

The guy's response to MOS criticism was to double down on it. His response to Superman criticism was bafflement that we did not like his 'grown up' take. That is not the mentality of a man who wants to grow.

Warner Bros did see Snyders cut though and disliked it.

M.Night is a better storyteller at his best at least. Plus I'll take Unbreakable over any Snyder comic book movie.

this is not Snyder's vision that is for sure. but is it for the better or worse we may never know.

Again, when referring to Snyder, people are talking about more than just Justice League. BvS and MOS are connected to JL by a placenta.

Not really, they’re not going to axe Wonder Woman 2 because that’s a sequel to a hugely successful film, Shazam is made by New Line and it’s going to be a lighter film from the get go and Aquaman is still going to be released.

This whole WB is going to axe all DC films in development is stupid, they’ve clearly moved from JL as none of the same creatives are involved in future films

It really didn't. And they just made it worse for themselves, financially.

We actually don’t know that. There’s just as good a chance he could’ve made the film he wanted and it could’ve been received even worse by critics causing more people to turn away.

Oh for sure. That was my point. M. Night made the Sixth Sense, a modern classic. Snyder has never had a big hit like that.
