It really didn't. And they just made it worse for themselves, financially.

You think an R rated, three hour BvS movie wouldn't have been financial ruin?

How do you know it didn't? You haven't even seen the original Snyder cut?

I'm talking about the box office of BvS and MOS. Snyder still made money for WB, even if critics were out for him.

Warner Bros did see Snyders cut though and disliked it.

As I said, WB interfered with JL's script early on when production had already started because they panicked after BvS reviews.

ews.

Maan come on..were still on that? It's such nonsense you have to be purposely ignoring facts

Snyder and his editor edited the film themselves. Warners might have mandated it, but those two made it incoherent. A better question might be why Warners allowed him to shoot a three hour R-rated script in the first place.

Snyder did not edit the version released in cinemas currently. That opportunity was taken away from him the moment he sadly had to depart.

They made far less money they were projected to. And Justice League is a DIRECT response to those films. Keep in mind that the general public has no clue who Whedon is and what he did with the film.

Lets just wish Snyder the best and have him stay far away from any future DCEU properties.

I suspect the creative team behind JL won’t be involved in future films apart from maybe a exec producer credit with WW2

It certainly wasn't "financial ruin", a term being thrown around here against Snyder.

And in terms of JL, the public will be responding to the final product.

I wasn't talking about the money. I was talking about the BS narrative that critics are out to get Snyder. It's baseless, it's stupid, and it's just something people use when they can't accept that "Hey not everyone is going to like everyone's films"

All I meant was that it got bad reviews.

If WB released the ultimate cut of BvS at theaters it would've been financial ruin. It's rated R and three hours, slash showtimes and a portion of your audience casually. Hence why they chopped it down, to salvage their gross.

It's not a family, it's a business. There are weak links and they need to go.

Snyder, Terrio, Ayer need to be the start.
FWIW, Terrio just got hired to write Star Wars Episode IX. So somebody, apparently, has faith in him.

Well, we can only really guess that.

And they should've chopped it down better. :oldrazz: It didn't have to be R-Rated or 3 hours, but the Theatrical Cut made some really damaging cuts.

M Knight was great for a couple of films and then every subsequent film just kept getting worse leading up to The Happening. That might be the worst film I've EVER seen. :funny:

They could have rid of the R rating for the UE right?

just a few blood splatters or am I missing something?

If these estimates hold up, my 18-month-old prediction won't seem so crazy after all.

The thing WB has to take away from this is that Snyder is not a mainstream director and that they need to stop trying to make him one. The reality is he's a niche director. In all honesty I would encourage Snyder to step back from these over CG'ed films he likes and do some smaller, character driven stuff for a while. Go back to basics and fix up his story telling skills.

I think some DC fans think that it’s so cool to have a dark and R rated DC movie, as opposed to the “kiddie” Marvel movies, that they failed to realize that they’re the only ones who would pay to see it in the theatre.
