I'm not trying to change your mind about the quality of the film. I'm saying that I think that it is wrong to blame expectations for the majority of critics and general audience not liking the film.

I hope we get a Superman after world type of storyline. Not an actual after world but someway for him to meet and speak to both his father's and maybe even his Kryptonian mother before returning. If done correctly it could be a moment of huge personal growth for Superman.

A 69% drop with no competiton says different. I'd say the majority didn't care for the film. They aren't nerds like I am so they won't ***** about it online of course.

I think it's fair to say lots of people left the theater confused/not pleased by what they had seen. BvS is a movie for fanboys made by a fanboy, which is why a lot of us enjoyed it on a visceral level.

Or maybe we should define "liking". If it's about quality of the film or about if it delivers where it aims - it's one thing. But if it's about mass-appeal... Are people interested in a brooding and somber story (with a little bit of action) about dead superheroes? Turns out, not so much.

Snyder made some great scenes. Superman solar healing. The heatvison tug of war between Doomsday and Supes. Wonder Woman in general. Bats and his grappling gun. It's sad; because people will ignore all of this and keep on playing the same note of how the movie sucks.

It's a great collection of scenes, but it feels incomplete as a whole and the plot makes little sense. Not to mention that technically the characterizations for Bats and Supes are rather...Deviant. Batman can get away with that because he is the most versatile comic book character, but Superman is a different story.

I understood the plot just fine. It's the story of how Superman inspires Batman to be a hero again. At it's bare bones that's what it is and that's what we got.

Jesus optimists just accept the cold hard reality so we can stop having this conversation. Bvs failed on a critical and financial level. It didn't catch on with the General Audience. Stop denying what is right in your faces for the sake of foolish optimism.

You can hope for the best going forward but stop denying the truth. Bvs is a multi faceted failure, despite how much you liked it. There's literally no argument about this...

I want DC to succeed but bvs was a terrible start. I'm hopeful that JL will be good just not counting on it ...
