IMO, we had our Karate Kid in the 80's, let the kids of today have theirs!!!:ninja::up:

Well Steve, I believe seeing another crappy remake cant be good for the future of the film industry. Especially how great this original was and didnt need a remake. I feel this disrespects the original in many ways and I refuse to see it. Im not "crying" simply forming my own opinion.

It isn't about the future it is about the now.

I can't wait until 15 years from now when movies from this decade start getting remade, so these children can feel what it is like to be told a portion of your childhood experience wasn't good & needs to be redone.

It is instulting & infuriating.

We didn't need a King Kong remake, nor did we did any of the other remakes. It just depends on who is involved in the remaking that shapes our opinion of it.

I know I voted "No" on the poll, but after seeing the trailers and commercials for the movie...I think I'm interested in seeing it. I'll probably see it on DVD like I do with everything else, but I'm looking forward to it.

$19 Million Friday baby!!!!! :D
That makes me sad.

With that being said, when i went to the theaters today to see The A-Team. Which was awesome by the way.

In the theater of the lobby they had a guy doing some Karate Moves.

When I saw A-team yesterday, the theatre had people dressed in kabuki outfits. It was embarrassing and a little racist. I'm disappointed this movie is doing well, but I guess I can't fault families for going to see the first non-animated flick for the whole family this summer. It just stings more because Jaden Smith just comes off so cocky for a 12-year old kid.

Makes me wonder what they'll do for a sequel since they already are in Asia. Go back to Detroit and take on Jaden's uncle?

People who whine about remakes are starting to get annoying now.I hope it pains them even more now that this movie is going to be a hit.

Embarassing I can get but racist???? you lost me there

Jaden joins a team of other inter-celebrity spawnlings and goes to Afghanistan to hunt for Osama Bin Laden using kung fu. All the while, they receive additional training from Chuck Norris.

Jaden: "Mr. Norris, why do we need all this extra training? Jackie Chan already taught me Kung Fu!"

Chuck Norris: "You will not be able to defeat Bin Laden until you have mastered the power of the roundhouse kick!"

*kicks Jaden*

Jaden: "OW! Okay okay, I'll keep training!"

Because Karate Kid is a remake, while A-Team is something based on a old tv show. So its completely different.:woot:

It's called The Karate Kid because it's a stigma to his character and he actually already knows Karate. But since he moved to the land of Kung Fu it only makes sense he learns Kung Fu. What I'm saying is the characters are aware of what the difference is between Karate and Kung Fu. So I don't see what's the big deal about it. It's just a stupid title that matters not to how good a film is. I admire the antipathy towards remakes. Sure we don't NEED a remake. I mean do we even NEED another Batman movie?

You insinuated that you wanted this movie to fail because it's a remake. This coming from someone who throws a temper tantrum whenever someone bad-mouths a horror remake.

You da man.

im going to see it tomorrow, im a huge jackie chan fan. its nice to see him finally get himself a serious role in america

I seen this yesterday and I thought it was great....I really liked it. Not as good as the original(you can't top that) but pretty damn close... it was great I want to see it again

O yea and when
Dre did his Cobra Spin Kick to win the Tournament(Which was Awesome by the way :awesome: )
almost everyone in my theater was clapping... thought that was cool I joined in as well :o
