So they making their own series by calling it the Kung Fu Kid? It could work if its a comedy movie. If its gonna be straight up action it will suck. Wonder if Disney behind this then it will really suck.

He was a VERY WELL known actor long before the Rush Hour films came along.

I'm not bothered by this movie anymore. It seems they're only using the basic premise from the Karate Kid, and that's about it. An actual remake with the same story but different actors playing Daniel and Myagi would have been absurd.

the only reason this movie is made is because of Will Smith. he can greenlight almost everything IMO.

I liked J-Smith in that boring Keanu Reeves remake (Like everyother character in the movie, his was terribly written but he did well with the s**tty script that he had to work with) and the Pursuit of Happyness but this seems like a big mistake to me. He seems like a talented and charismatic little guy who should be doing something better than this. Who knows? It might be a fun kids flick but I doubt it. I'm just glad that it's not a direct remake because that would have been beyond stupid. Not that I'm endorsing this re-imagining or anything but that would have been worse.

Will looks funny without his hair, he must be gearing up for a movie. Although I remember him saying that he was going to take a break a while ago.

Thats a good enough explaination, he probably did want to do the flick for that reason.

Alot of people push there kids into hollywood so it's not funny or different to me. Personally I think the kid is talented so I don't care.

There is no proof that his father has a role in the flick though. He's a minor so ofcourse his dad is on the set. I'm sure his mother will end up on the making of too because again...he is just a child.

His pops is the biggest star in the world and right now he is just a kid actor...he needs help.
