Perhaps not, but he seems to want to try something different every time. It would have been very easy for him to follow up the success of Henry V with another Shakespearian drama with battle scenes, but he opted for stuff like a Hitchcock homage, Dead Again, a small character piece, Peter's Friends, a straight ahead Shakespearian comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, a horror film, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and a love letter to theater, A Midwinter's Tale, before finally tackling Shakespearian drama again with Hamlet.
I really can't see him having an equal committment to Thor as he does for Shakespeare, which even he took extended breaks from.
Cool find. Looks like it's possibly a done deal.
the movie will hopefully be plenty violent, hardcore Viking-deity combat..
LOTR was pg-13 that was quite violent.

Wasn't TDK PG-13?
yeah, but I thought LOTR was closer to the kind of violence we would see. Sword and sandal hack and slash, but still able to stay PG13

and the biggest film on his resume was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Yeah, that movie wasn't epic at all
Except for The RZA and Dr. DreAnd, unless your name is John Williams, I don't think any composer is well known enough to be a significant draw.
Goldsmith is dead.
Doyle is alright. I'm fine with it.
