This show loves to use the shaving blade doesn't it?

First it was that security guard who was cut open by that blonde follower

Now Emma going for the juggular.

The Evac center + cult members felt like a Zombie movie. I got that vibe when one of the cult members lunged at Parker with an axe.

After weeks of tragicomical folly, this episode was once again enjoyable from start to finish.

The biggest question of all, way more important than which of the main characters will live or die, is how in the heck is the show going to keep going next season when most of the cultists have been used up pretty much as cannon fodder in Ryan Hardy's meat grinder?

The 2nd question: what is the point? The way Joe was talking to the crew before the left the Estate it seemed like This was the purpose they'd been waiting for... to be a distraction while Joe escaped? can't be. Now I really miss Roderick at least under his command the cult was becoming a credible domestic terrorist organization.

I am very interested to see where they go with this for the second season. I can only assume it'd be a very different show.

I keep thinking each week after they announced a couple of main characters will die in the season finale
that people like Jacob would be the ones to bite it in the finale, because I consider him quite a focal character. And with this weeks ending it's like they are leaving the only character left for the finale to be Ryan, Claire and Joe. Maybe the show will just follow Ryan and be a brand new story with no ties to this season.

Season 2 could be Emma on the run gathering up the followers. I don't see Purefoy staying that long.

7 seasons trying to track down Purefoy would get old. We need new villains

Joe dies & Claire starts to like stabbing Joe so much that she continues where he left off

My crazy theory:

Next season is about Westen trying to stop Ryan and his cult. Remember what the cultist told Ryan? Joe's goal is to transform Ryan. Joe sees a kindred spirit in Hardy. It would be incredibly ballsy for the writers to have Ryan kill Joe and then become Joe. Next season could focus on Ryan as the villain.

Like I said, it is almost too ballsy for network TV, but damned if it wouldn't be a twist.

I think that would come off as really random if they pulled that this late in the game...

But it's not random at all. All season we've seen Joe taking steps to break Ryan. Ryan has watched people he cares about die. He has killed countless people. He's fallen deeper into his drinking problem. Claire's death would send him entirely over the edge.

It would go along with the whole ''final chapter" thing.

Wow, best episode of the series so far for me, so much crazy **** went down this episode, Claire stabbing Joe again, though to no evail. Emma ending things with Jacob in a very creepy and sadistic way, and the followers in the evac centre, wow, not to mention Parker ending up in a bit of a pickle, very interested to see how they will finish this season.

Things are going to be even more messy next week.

The evac center distraction sequence was pretty well executed but was the plan always to grab Parker? I mean they had that burial place ready for someone as it's straight out of Poe's work. I'm guessing what is happening with her will be where the twist in the finale comes in as the set up for next season, given her cult past.

Claire really needs to play some Mortal Kombat and FINISH HIM!!!! That is two good chances squandered. I hate Emma so hopefully she will get hers in the finale, but Jacob regressed and therefore deserved his demise, the gimp! I thought she was gonna shoot him when they got in close, but that sneaky throat slash was just mean! :csad:

Who's this Alex who they were suddenly needing to meet up with, is he/she Roderick 2?

I was finding Jacob quite interesting so I'm really pissed that they killed him. In this entire series I've found only 3 characters interesting, Ryan Hardy, Jacob and Roderick and 2 of them are dead now. :cmad:

I honestly think that Debra Parker is gonna be the next Joe, to the point I wouldn't be surprised if she is "Alex".

She has a cult background, she's the one who started sensationalizing Joe to the media earlier on, as well as giving him "edgar allen poes" book near the beginning. She said during the episode where you find out about her past something along the lines of people belong to cults(correct me if you know the line I'm talking about.)

She also has an inside scoop to Hardy, she'd be able to get away with talking to Joe while he was arrested, ensuring the right people were in the right place.

I may just be paranoid, but for how many close calls she has had and survived, they are clearly saving her for something.

^^^ It's from one of Poe's stories, my guess is that Hardy will have a race against time to save her or rescue Claire.

Jacob was growing on me as well but then he reverted to puppy dogging for lollipop head again this week and so I didn't care that he got killed off.

Lmao. Lollipop head. I will never unsee it.

She also can't be "Alex" since they referred to Alex as "he".

I just laughed at Joe in the last episode. Everything he says and does just seems so stupid to me now and comical. Untying Claire at the dinner table (really Joe) AND leaving metal silverware in front of her. So then Claire gets yet another opportunity to kill Joe but all she does is stab him in the old wound? How about the neck or some other fatal place to stab him. Sheesh! I was so annoyed.

Then they are running around the woods and somehow manage to run into Emma and Jacob? Laughable!

I'm hoping the finale will redeem the show. I just don't know if I can put up with the idiocy on this show.

Certain details are eyeroll-worthy, but the character and the drama is solid. That's what I care about.

Claire isn't a trained assassin who could kill you a 150 different ways. There is a reason no one wants a ban on silverware because of it's dangerous usage. That was the least offensive action at that dinner scene, Joe biggest flaw right now is pride it's been his biggest flaw.

I don't think you have to be a trained assassin to have an idea that if I stab somebody repeatedly in the throat they are going to die or at the least not be able to talk. Women do this all the time in real life and I don't think they are all trained assassins. It makes more sense than stabbing them again in the spot that you stabbed them in before.

The reason nobody wants to ban silverware is because its primary purpose is to eat not to kill. You can't police or regular every single mundane item used to injure or kill from its intended purpose. That's why we laws for guns because the intended purpose for guns is to kill. People use them for shooting targets but the purpose of a gun is to kill.

Be serious silverware is a very ineffective way of killing anyone. When the kings began to use silverware to eat they dulled the edges enough so they'd be a very ineffective way of killing. I mean kings werent loved by everyone they had to take every precaution if they wanted to sit on that throne. Do you think Claire all 115 lbs of her could muster enough force to stab someone with a fork so hard that if penetrates someone's throat ? The edges of a fork are only so long.0

I wish that show Deadliest Warrior was still on so we could test how deadly a 115 pound woman with a fork is. :oldrazz:

Lets move on to other aspects of the show. I'm with the rest of you about where this show is going to go next season. I have no clue given that everything is centered around Joe and Ryan.
