I can't see it. He killed Dave's dad. Was partly responsible for Big Daddy's death. I just can't see Chris being redeemable.

And to respond to your question: She knows Dave's identity, but not Hit-Girl's. I don't even think Hit-Girl is known as a public figure the way Kick-Ass is (since she and her dad made a point to erase evidence and kill security cameras wherever they made an appearance), so Katie probably doesn't even know of Hit-Girl's existence.

As for Ass-Kicker, I agree. That was handled very poorly.

I just thought the second part was cringe worthy bad. I'm not trying to tear it down. I don't read reviews or anything or have I been on this Kick ass forum so if that part has been brought up a million times, forgive me.

I like Katie. But she wasn't really necessary for this film.

Also, thought Jim Carey was in it for just the right amount of time. Not too much and not too little. Just enough to make his presence felt. I thought McLovin was a great villain. I don't even like him as an actor, but he was menacing as a villain. I didn't like the bedroom scene though. I wish we could have got more Turk from Scrubs. I really liked the whole Mindy storyline. I enjoyed it. I also felt though the tones were completely different. It didn't really need a sequel.

Yeah, but everyone's reaction to that was basically "WTF?!" and utter disbelief. I don't think anyone has any idea who that was, and she never "came out" publicly, not to mention two years have passed since that incident, so it's not really a natural leap for Katie to make. The conversation she overheard was sounding pretty bad, lol. Also, she's been kinda sketchy/flaky from the beginning, imo, so it didn't seem all that out-of-character to me.

I also edited my above post about the second part of your question. The Todd thing sucked. I think everyone's pretty much in agreement there, haha.

That's some of the discrepencies with this movie. Like, how in the first movie, Kick Ass clearly states that Marcus had Mindy enrolled in his school so he could keep an eye out for her, and in this movie, Marcus acts like he doesn't even know who Dave is.

Yep. I had always assumed there was more to the Rasul situation than Dave wanted to see, and I mean, the very first scene we're shown of her, she's laughing at Dave's expense with her friend, right in front of him. She only became interested in acknowledging him as a human being once she thought he was a "lame duck," basically because she'd always wanted a token "Gay BFF." Hell, that affinity for "lame ducks" already seemed kinda like a characteristic of a flake to me. Not to mention how quickly she jumped into bed with Dave once all was revealed (and the oh-so-romantic alley-way sex). Katie was never any kind of innocent angel, that much was clear. She just seemed like the kind of girl who was always looking for little drama in her life to me.

I saw it last night, and loved it!
Like the first film, I felt it was much better than the comic it was based on.
I must agree with an earlier comment that they gave Jim Carrey just the right amount of screentime, and he did really good with it.
The changes they made from the source material worked quite well (i.e. changing Insect- Man's character, giving Night- ***** more of a role, and expanding Chris's role and how he became a true villain).
The scenes with Mindy were great, and the fight scenes were all wonderfully choreographed. Mother Russia was absolutely perfect and many of the film's highlights were the scenes involving her.
I surprisingly liked the music a lot too, especially the cover of 'When the Saints go Marching In' played when Justice Forever is busting up the trafficker's poker game and the guitar riff of the 'Tetris' theme played during Mother Russia's rampage.

Yea, It was kinda stupid to have Dave and Katie to break up in ONE quick scene with a very filmsy reason to break up. Considering how the first movie was all about Dave crushing on Katie it was weird to have them break up so quickly. I think it was because the actress playing Katie had something else to shoot or maybe they wanted just wanted Night ***** to be the love interest.

He is likeable (sorta) even when he turns pure evil as The MotherF**ker. His lines are funny and Christopher Mintz Please really steals the show in every scene he is in.

I was thinking the same thing at first until it was apparent she was just taunting him into attacking. Kinda funny I thought.

Saw it...liked it. Quite a bit really. Laughed a lot. Will probably see it again.

Not going to place it up there with the first one because that's my #1 comic book movie and I never expected this one to match that. "Magic" usually only happens once.

This one could not have Mark Strong, Cage/Big Daddy, or 11 year old Mindy. That's three things I love about the first one. The music also didn't hit the same chords with me this time.

A problem that was tough to overcome is that they changed some stuff in the first movie from the comic but this one was stuck trying to adapt the KA2 comic with the same characters from the first comic. So Katie and the MF'er felt a little "off" here. Katie turns into a cold ***** and the MF'er goes from innocent Chris to evil Chris. Felt kind of abrupt to me.

Too bad it took so long to make because Dave and Mindy got older and I couldn't help noticing. Hard to believe Dave is still in high school to be honest. And Mindy is not quite as wacky a character at 15. I will admit her revenge on the "Mean Girls" cracked me up though.

But hey....was still kinda nice to see those characters again and I did have a good time watching it. Hovering between 7.5/10 and 8/10 for me. That's a decent step down from my 10/10 for KA1....but hard to complain too loud given the circumstances.

I thought the music had a Hans Zimmer-ish sound to it even during the climax, hell even the final battle looked a bit like The Dark Knight Rises where [blackout]everybody is ganging up on each other[/blackout].

The sick stick scene was horrible and didn't belong in this movie. Yes even for Kick-Ass. It was completely out of place and didn't fit at all. In fact a lot of the Mean Girl scenes halted the movie in its tracks.

I guess because I'm not an avid follower of the comic I didn't mind the scenes that are considered "tasteless", I mean this is after all an R-rated film.

Not surprised the movie bombed this weekend. This was basically like the DTV sequel to Kick-Ass. Not surprised Vaughn didn't feel inspired enough to come back to do this story.

I wasn't expecting it to be first place this weekend but for it to be beaten by an Oprah Winfrey film is embarrassing.
