Check out the deleted scenes. They are all on the DVD and blu-ray. Ad they do make a lot of difference to the film. Beginning the movie with Banner attempting to kill himself changes the entire mood of the thing - understandable why they cut it, but more effective with it.

There's also wonderfully moody and dark scene with Banner talking to Leonard Samson, which is one of the best deleted scenes from any Marvel movie. The tension of the scene comes from it being an alpha male situation, with Samson subtly threatening Banner, not realising who he's really dealing with...and Banner is trying to maintain his reserve, while a fire crackles in the background, representing his simmering rage that is never far away. It's just a really great scene.

What I remember are vague rumors about a Norton cut leaking online. I think somewhere on these forums a moderator told people not to post any links to it or something along those lines back around when the movie came out. I'm wondering if anyone knows the extent to which this vague now-forgotten rumor is true or not?

If there really is an alternate cut out there with additional deleted scenes, Marvel Studio's should certainly allow fans to see it. They won't though cause there seems to have been a lot of push/pull behind the scenes on this movie so providing an alternate cut of course would open the door for fans to critique what was ultimately decided upon.
