Kick-Ass - Anyone picking this up?

I'm not sure it is possibly for me to be less interested in a comic than I am in this one.

We have taste, don't you

oh you're sooo clever!...:o
I have eyes and artistic talent, don't you??
I like his art only when it pertains to flashback stories; it looks perfect in the new issue of x-men, for instance. But if i want to see well drawn characters, i typically dont look at Romita. I would be all about Kick-Ass if it weren't for him, but I may still deal with it.

and as for the jersey jokes, Darth, no pokin fun till you got the cojones to disclose where you're from!!

Doesn't matter to me whether you like JR Jr.'s art, but what does having artistic talent have to do with having an opinion? I see this argument thrown around a lot and it still makes absolutely no sense to me.

Probably not as that I increasingly just don't enjoy Mark Millar's writing.

But much more like not actually at all like that, in any way, shape, or form, except possibly if you define "extremist liberal" as "anywhere to the left of Rush Limbaugh."

You'd have to be pretty inattentive to not notice to constant "Hurr, America is evil, dirka dirka!!!" overtone to Ultimates 2.

I think it's more about the American government being evil, and not the American people as a whole.

I call.

Let's see this so called artistic talent.

Oh, and Darth is from the bleakest pit of hell that still get's basic cable, anyone could tell you that.

I'm from Miami, everyone knows this.

Same thing.

I'm a couple hundred miles north of y'all. <-- See? That's my authentic Southern drawl representing pretty much every part of Florida that's not Miami. :)

I just visited my friend in the Hendry prison work camp....yeah, I'd rather be stuck on biscayne blvd. any day of the week. If you're not in south florida, you pretty much don't count.

Man, make one comment about not likin' someone's art and I get put on trial!...
Southerners, I said that I have talent because i can actually draw the stuff!! I think thats just as good as your so-called "taste", And i'll be glad to post my original art once I get my website organized...
And Lemon, it's not a weird stipulation, that's just where i think his art fits with superheroes, golden age stories and stuff. I could see him doing the art on a more kid-friendly series, but keep him away from Cap and my other faves, thats all I ask...

Well let's see some of this stuff you draw. We don't need a website, just post your favorite piece.

You can't just throw around Jr. hate on this board. Us floridians love that guy. I think you're the first person I've seen say the reason he/she's not picking up the book is the art and not the writer.

Yea i know, I'm weird, but hey, that's jersey for ya, right??
I'm not tryin to start a war, I just really wanna know what y'all like about his art....?

Actually...I'm not really a big fan of JRJR art. I was kind of disappointed when I heard he was the artist back on WWH.

But I know I'm pretty far in the minority on that one, so I just let it be.

Oh, I love the "not having taste" jab when somebody has a differing opinion :whatever:

You'd have to be pretty inattentive to not notice to constant "Hurr, America is evil, dirka dirka!!!" overtone to Ultimates 2.

You'd have to be pretty thoughtlessly reactionary to misread that book's tone so badly.

And how do you explain, then, the numerous criticisms of the book on that premise? Has everyone just "misread" the book? Or is it possible that because YOU personally agree with the sentiments expressed that you don't see it as over-the-top?
