*** Killzone 2 Review Thread ***

Did you guys know that you can get the STa14 in the demo?

Just inside the warehouse throw a grenade or shoot the legs at the guy on the roof. He will fall forward when he dies and drop the gun. It is low on ammo, but you can head shot a few baddies before you run out.

Been there done that my young padawan, but I prefer a grenade as oppose to shooting him in the legs, yes yes I'm just that damn good!!!:o:oldrazz::ninja:

Collect Intel in Killzone 2, Get Rewards on Killzone.com

Hi everyone!

It’s Victor Zuylen from Killzone.com here. With Killzone 2 receiving lots of positive attention from the press, I figured now would be a good time to give you a taste of the bonus content which can be unlocked on Killzone.com through the game.

After you’ve uncovered a piece of Helghast intel in Killzone 2’s single player campaign, you can connect to Killzone.com to claim a special reward. These unlockable rewards come in various shapes and sizes – some are simply printable versions of the propaganda posters you see in-game, others contain details on the wildlife of the Maelstra Barrens or pages from a Helghast soldier’s secret journal.

f you’re good enough, you can even unlock and download physical objects from the Killzone universe. “That’s impossible,” I hear you cry at your monitor, “You can’t to download physical objects through the Internet – let alone objects from a fictional universe.” Ah, but then you’ve obviously never witnessed the venerable art of papercraft:

Well, that’s enough spoilers from me. Stay tuned to PlayStation.Blog and Killzone.com, because we’ll be talking about other ways in which the game and the website interact soon!

ah...i already knew my preorder money was well spent, but things just keep getting better!

From someone who thought Killzone was utter trash, i think this could be the most, visceral, cinematic and explosive FPS ever made. I love the first person cover, altho i wish it was more like Gears and i didn't have to hold a button to go into cover. I mean this game, visually is second to only Metal Gear Solid 4, it really looks amazing. I dont think its going to revolutionize anything, but i think Killzone 2 is a winner. Ill be getting this after SF IV and RE5.

Looks good so far - just had to up the sensitivity a bit

Now for MP, how many modes are there? I know about Warzone, but you are able to play Bodycount and only that right?

i haven't looked into this game at all but i've noticed the reviews are amazing so i'm thinking i might get this.

is there a demo out?

YAY, I just picked up KILLZONE 2, but I'm not gonna play it just yet, right now I'm in the process of finishing the first game and Liberation, once those are done, I'm all in, see you in the ZONE!!!:oldrazz::D:up:

Ah, I just got this game, but I'm not gonna get to play it properly until Monday evening. :csad: Stupid social life!

I just got my copy in today, only played 15 minutes but pretty great stuff so far

I'm loving the game so far.

The multi player dynamic is pretty cool.

I honestly think this is the best shooter I've played on the next gen consoles. The ONLY complaint I have is that sometimes your buddies can get in your way a bit and steal your kills. But other than that, its rocking.

One of the better FPS's I've played for a while. But I'm still kinda disappointed. Just finished the single-player. While the MP is amazing, the Single player still resides with my issues with a lot of console FPS's for a while.

A. I'm tired of seeing "rubble, and war torn cities" it's truly getting overly annoying.
B. I'm tired of playing a "marine/soldier" in the middle of a giant invasion of some sort, even the Call Of Duty's do this.
C. I'm tired of the "recharge" health, go back to health packs.
D. Games are never 100% realistic I'm tired of this only 2 guns stuff. It takes away from the fun. MGS does not do it, and it still carries that "real" feeling.
E. I'm tired of team-mates. Especially at the end of Killzone I wanted to kill all my own team mates. The enemy AI is great, but the team AI is ******ed. They don't do anything, and they just get in the way. I'm tired of this squad based kind of FPS.

I wanna see FPS's go back to some of the roots. I'm tired of the "only one way to go" stuff. They have become nothing more then simple shooting galleries, of old. With games like FarCry, and Half-Life you got to explore, it was not a FPS PUSHING PUSHING AND PUSHING you to go forward, and you have no choice since there is only ONE way to go. There is always convient rubble where you "can't" go.

Games like Half-Life (the original) still have not been beat. In that you always had such low ammounts of ammo, very few enemies but they were smart and you had to use your head on how to get out of situations. There was light puzzle solving involved. And they had that envorinment feel that each place felt different, and you felt alone, and it added more.

Today's "War" FPS's is all they seem to make, and they are just getting so old, they need to get some creativity back into my "use to be" favorite genre.

Though a long rant I liked Killzone 2, it had great technical features, and the MP is amazing. Nothing wrong with the single player compared to others of today, but compared to FPS's as what they use to be, these just feel like shooting galleries. I loved Far Cry's abillity to be able to "wander" around. And engange in different ways.

Hopefully FPS's get out of this rut they've been in for the past few years.
