Killzone 2 showing straight after MS E3 Keynote, July 10th

All I've said is it's an encouraging sign, that's about it, and that GG is fundamentally different now than they were during KZ1.

No one said they were 1 to 1.

Look Extro it's not your fault you can't properly address the nature of development, just let it go. You have yet to tell me how the core fundamentals aren't transferable, and while you were talking about some companies not making the transition from 16 bit to 3D, you conveniently ignored that said transtion is a much bigger paradgrim shift than Liberation to KZ2, by about a factor of 10. Talented 3D people will translate their skillsets over more times than not, absurdly talented people managed the 3D transition with ease.

The fundamentals aren't the same because the AI for a FPS on a console is much more advanced. The technology is much more advanced and terrificly different than that of the PSP. Success in one area does not mean success in another, even if they are in some way similar. The effort and the finesse required for a "next-gen" console game is much more than a N64-level top down shooter. The controls aren't even remotely similar. They will not translate directly. Completely forgetting here for a moment that Guerilla has never made a good console game and this is not a gradual shift into a new realm, this is a hop, skip, and ****ing leap into a much more advanced paradigm.

Oh, forget it. You're right, developing for the PSP and the PS3 are exactly the same!

:whatever:

Where do you think more of their time money and people will be going? The AI in Liberation or the AI in KZ2. i wonder.

I can't believe there is actually someone on this board who thinks there isn't much difference between designing levels for a top-down shooter and that for an FPS.

 x 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Arguing with you is like.. forget it. I've had my fill of it, you can grip on to your delusions until Killzone 2 comes out and turns out to be.. well, Killzone: Part 2. It ceases to bother me.

Have fun fooling yourself.

There is a difference that isn't the main concern of those who are responsible for designing the weapons or the levels or the AI. If any of you actually played Liberation (oh that's right) you'd know taht it isn't some top down Contra.

I'll happilly sit back and what Killzone 2 exceed what Killzone 1 did while you plug your ears and scream not listening and refuse to admit it. Your loss if it ends up being good.

That's not saying much, you know. I mean, jeebus, how hard can it be to better than crap?

All I'm saying is that Killzone 2 could Average 95% on game rankings and there are people in this thread who would refuse to admit the possibility that it might even be good.

Actually, there's people that refuse the possibility that it might be good based on the reasons you produce. There's a difference there, however minute it might be.

More so refute the possibility that it might be good in general while disagreeing with the reasons I produce that may be an encouraging sign that things could be otherwise.

Both of you are wrong. :o

Alright fine, I suppose you have the correct interpretation? :o

After watching gameplay videos again, Killzone 2 doesn't seem like it will be a big shooter. Isn't this thing launching up against FarCry 2 and Gears of War 2? It needs to pull itself together.

After seeing that comic strip, ah f**k it, Xtro is 100% right.

Killzone 2 will suck guerrilla balls. :hehe:

For the love of, it was a technical demo with God mode on of an unfinished environment. Of a game that might not be out for another 8 months.

I've decided that all my posts will contain a PBF comic now. Aside from this one announcing that all of my posts will contain a PBF comic.

Because they're awesome? And I love destroying bandwidth, it's fun.

Too late, already forgot in the Mass Effect thread. That plan is over. Time to move to the latest, greatest in bandwidth destruction. .Gifs.

I'm sure it will be a reasonably decently designed shooter, like 7.5/10 material, but not the killer-app Sony so sorely needs, not worth the massive cash Sony's thrown at it and not a game to satisfy the wait PS3 fans are enduring for it.

I doubt KZ 2 will be the PS3's killer-app, MGS 4 already has that.

There's way too little footage for anyone to make any of these sweeping statements at the moment. We need to see more levels and more hands on reports.
