Killzone 2 showing straight after MS E3 Keynote, July 10th

Maybe, but I've never really liked Free Radical's games. The Orange Box will probably be the best FPS experience on the PS3 until HL2: ep3 comes out. Or maybe Crysis, if that ever gets ported.

I dont think crysis is goin anywhere. Damn, i hear that game is multiple discs. The s*** is serious business.

Is Killzone 2 going to have any ties to the first game?

Depends what you mean by ties.

In terms of characters, you're not Captain Templar, your an everyday soldier named Sev, its unknown if Templar will make an appearance (but my mony's on him doing so). Rico, obviously is there, and I think Lugger's confirmed to be returning too.

In terms of story, the game follows on from Killzone: Liberation, after Templar kills Metrac and another ISA traitor, the decision is made to bring the fight to the Helghast's home planet in order to win the war.

In terms of gameplay, you still fight the Helghast, starting with the same weapon. The camera still has that human shakiness too.

I was referring to characters; if Templar, Rico, Lugger, and Hakkah will appear at all and play some sort of role in the game.

It STILL has that human shakiness?! UGH, that's one thing that pissed me off royally from the first game...

Honestly, you prep a 'nade, and the whole camera shook as if an earthquake just happened  or the full 2 second delay b/w pulling a gun out, watching the animation, then actually being able to use it...I couldn't tell you how many I died b/c of that.

The shakiness is awesome. Killzone, if anything, did a great job of immersing you. This one should have that, plus actual good gameplay plus amazing graphics/animations. I, for one, am amped.

sev is in the legion tho right?

lol anyone notice how he was shaking on the transport? he was nervous as ****.

Yes, Sev and everyone else on his craft are members of the Legion who are essentially special infantry that asist the ISA navy. His squad leader is Rico from the first Killzone (who isn't nearly as cool without his awesome suit and chaingun imo).

Yeah Killzone 1 dd an awesome job of immersing you. The only problem with cooking the grenade was that you could essentially use it as a weapon of death by just holding onto it long enough and chucking it directly at someone.

So far, you can't cook grenades in KZ2 and you just throw them and they explode, but stuff is still being worked on, personally I hope we see a return of the KZ1 style, but tweaked to make cooking it less cheap.
Do you guys even really know what you're arguing about anymore? :csad:

Yes.

Did we actually see Sev in the trailer? I keep watching it and trying to see if I'm ment to see him. He's not the "Point it down ***** head!" loser is he?

Sev is the first character you see, the one who is looking out into the distance who Rico addressed as 'Sev' when he puts his hand on Sevs' shoulder.

He's the guy with the short cut mohawk.

:P

Yeah, the first one in the trailer. Again, am I just blind or was he not shaking and grabbing the rail bar? Like, he looked like it was his first time out when he is in fact a special ops soldier.

[Idiot] I thought Rico was saying "Sir." [/Idiot]

I doubt they do, G. THey have posted more than everyone else combined in this thread, which is pretty sad. I bet deep down they both know gaming as a hole is based on OPINION. And not all great games make impact, like the first Prince of Persia on the last gen systems. I can't wait for more vids, but with college, I'm gonna be playing the hell out of my PS2. Thankfully I have GTA: VC, San Andreas, GOW, GOWII, DMC3, MGS3: Subsistence, Tekken 5, Onimusha 4, RE4, Black, and Jak III to play. I've beaten al of them except for the GTA games, but I plan on replaying most of them. Heck, I even went back to GOW after beating five missions in Black, which is a very intense fps. If KZ2 can get that kind of intensity, chaos, and fluid controls, they will have a surefire hit. I also plan on buying Bully, Okami, FFXII, and maybe Gun or True Crime:Streets of NY, so I'll be good for a while. But god damn I want to blow my money on a PS3!!! :csad:

Most people would be scared as **** with a lightning storm surrounding going towards their near-certain death (this scene is based off D-Day at Normandy I believe), I don't care how much experience you have.

Yeah. The thing is, the other guys were all cool and collected, especially Rico, who kicks some much ***.

OMG Killzone 2 is amazing! I just got done reading the four page preview in the new issue of gameinformer.
In the article they spent a couple of hours playing a more polished version of the E3 demo and mother of god you'll need paper towels. They said the game is hard as $hit! The A.I. they said is phenomenal so far even this early in development. They reported several scenarios that show advanced A.I but i dont remember all of them just ones that struck me amazing!
1. When fighting the heavy sure he is slow but is very agressive! GI used the Gears stop and pop tactic and for a few seconds it worked but strongly focus on "A few seconds". The heavy got used to their tactics and put to good use of the grenade launcher concealed under his BFG. The cover that once protected their lives is now nothing more than a smoking pile of rubble and debris leaving you dazed and confused. Perfect vulnerability for the heavy to finish them off with his BFG.

sorry ran out of room on PS3 text box.

So GI had to develop a new tactic in the heat of combat by running cover to cover and to keep moving.
2. Another scenario is the peaking around corners. If you dont peak out far enough the helghast wont pay attention to you as a threat and wont waste bullets on you. However lean out far enough and you'll be painted with bullets that will leave your world in a black and white haze.
3. The destructive environments play like a double edge sword. Blast the steel shutters off of a window to shoot the helghast and the helghast will use that new hole as a way to shoot back at you while his buds find other areas to shoot from!
4. Unlike Gears of War where the routes are scripted or they move at random times even in the middle of a fire fight! The helghast will wait patiently until you have to reload your weapon before flanking to a better posistion to get the drop on you.

I think LIZARD#1's found his new Resistance. Better get to work on your Helghast costume, Halloween's only 2 months away. I think you'd suit a "Heavy".

He who laughs last laughs hardest, Resistance is one of the best console FPS games I've ever played. ;)

Its alright...

I could name 10 better last gen FPS's (including Killzone!)
