Mmm, taking that with a grain of salt for now.

If true, I expect a Godzilla tease.

I hope that the next film will not be titled King Kong vs. Godzilla; King of the Monsters sounds good though!

That's already the subtitle of the Godzilla sequel, though.

You can kiss Godzilla vs King Kong goodbye if this film underperforms.

Yeah, I know . . . and it was also the subtitle of the original (the Amercan anyway) film with Raymond Burr, but it sounds so much better.

It seems Kong Skull Island will getting a After Credits Scene https://***********/Kellvin_Chavez/status/831576034172686336

Kong invites Goji over for Tea

Instead of GvK its going to be Godzilla and Kong's Excellent Rampage

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Too many parties are invested in making that happen.

And again, this wouldn't be the first time that WB used a proven performer to boost an underperformer in a sequel... :o

Don't the Chinese fund the Monster Universe now with Legendary? They have too much money to care if it underperforms

Wanda does own Legendary, sure. But funding for movies doesn't necessarily all come from the owner. Which is where Till's strength was, in getting movies funded. Universal and WB worked out a deal for Kong to be used by WB. Toho also had to be brought in, because they are quite controlling of the Godzilla rights and how their licensees use him.

Even if Kong underperforms, I think all those companies will have a small enough stake in the rematch to be willing to let it go ahead.

Party on, G-Man. *badass guitar riff obliterates Japan*

Ehhh, Wanda has pulled the plug on quite of Legendary's projects. If Kong underperforms, I have a hard time imagining them moving foward with a Godzilla vs. Kong film many people didn't ask for. Kong underperforming would signify to all of the parties involved that people are not interested in the character right now.

Legendary isn't the biggest stake in GvKK, though. WB, Universal, and Toho all have stakes in the film. In many ways, this is a lot like the Spidey deal.

And with all these kaiju movies being made, all parties will realize that GvKK IS the Avengers of the genre.

I dont Think Skull Island will underperform and should this happen , the Monsterverse will still Continue , because the fact the movie has a after credits scene proofs they have already planning the future

Godzilla vs King Kong is the kind of film that doesn't need to be set up to be successful. I assume none of the characters from this film returning anyway.

I am ajusting my expectations for this. I'm going into the theatre to watch a fun VFX extravaganza. No expecations for great script or acting. I doubt to be dissapointed.

I have my reservations about the script, but with a knockout cast for this (outside of Sam Jackson and John C Reilly) , I doubt there will be anything less than decent, to very good performances for the type of film that it is.

I actually think I will enjoy John C Reilly the most. But the good thing about having my expectations is the fact that there is a very low chance to be dissapointed, and good chance to be pleasntaly surprised.

But then...I thaught the same for Suicide Squad...and it was so much worst than I ever expected. It was the worst film I saw at cinema since Kick-Ass 2. Hope this do not happen here.

Better to go cautiously optimistic to see something rather than overly optimistic.

Going in without any strong reservations one way or the other, is always the best option IMO. It isn't the easiest thing to do though, especially when you love the characters being presented in that said film.

Vision, I'm pretty sure at this point that your hype for anything now is bipolar. :o

so the film basically takes place exclusively on skull island? Nowhere else?

Basically, yes. Takes place in the 70's, and they pretty much wanna establish Kong for the big fight movie.

Of course, the whole entire movie from beginning to end won't take place in Skull Island, if that's what you mean.

For some reason I'm not as hyped as I thought I would be... strange.

You already blew your load.

I'm not expecting this successful enough to get another Kong solo movie. All I am expecting is to enjoy the film. And this looks to be the kind of big monster fest that I wasn't expecting from Kong, so I am excited.
