Sony Spin-Off Kraven The Hunter

They legit straight up ripped that Rhino design from the first Amazing Spider-Man tie-in videogame, wow.

My main issue with this is a lot of the action seems so dark you can barely see whats going on, not exactly a colorful comic book movie this one is it.

I assume also Russell Crowe is permanently stuck in this accent now.

Might check it out for a giggle though not expecting great things from Sony.

Just a rumor but man if true, Rhino would have gotten the short end of the stick twice (well depending on your pov I guess lol). Though it would explain why the cgi looks a bit wonky, especially if this movie was supposed to release a year ago. :hmm:

Lol Sony’s always doing the most

This is just gonna be trash. I have seen enough out of Sony in recent years to know what we are getting. Especially with how they're trying to spin this "No, months of reshoots in this case was actually a good thing!" narrative. Sony knows this is complete crap

If this movie fails, will it finally put the final nail in the coffin of this Shared Spider-Man Universe?

Well I hope so.

After Kraven, Sony would be preoccupied with Spider-Man Home 4, Spider-Noir which is for streaming and Beyond the Spider-Verse. So we might get a break from these SSU movies for 2025 and 2026. Even if Venom 4 happens, it should take more or less 3 years.

Sony will still have the rights, so I don't see why it would be. Unfortunately.

The only thing that could potentially get be back on track with Sony's live action universe is if they do a May 'Mayday' Parker Spider-Girl movie with Tobey, Kirsten, and Raimi all returning. (Bring back J.K. Simmons as Mayor Jameson too).

Making films about the different actual Spider-People should’ve been the very obvious approach to the SSU in the first place. Sony had all the ingredients, but they just can’t help themselves

I'm actually relieved they didn't bother doing a Spider-Man 4 and Amazing Spider-Man 3 after No Way Home.

I feel like Tobey and Andrew already had their moment with their solo Spidey movies.

IMHO they missed their windows. They gave them their legacy sequel moment, I have no desire to see them again. IMHO we shouldn't see them again. I don't see the point.

They still haven't encountered with the other Marvel superheroes, which Secret Wars should give them the opportunity to do so.

I am okay with them being in Avengers: Cameo Porn (Aka Secret Wars). But nowhere else

But why? To what end? Why do we need to see them encounter other Marvel superheroes? The original Secret Wars wasn't about meeting alternate reality versions of the heroes.

Why? Because Tobey MaGuire interacting with Hugh Jackman would be interesting to see on-screen. Same goes with Andrew Garfield to whoever he meets later in the mcu.

We just had these moments with Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman officially joining the MCU and sharing the screen together, it was awesome. Plus Chris Evans as Human Torch interacting with Hugh and Ryan.

No, but the Hickman one was. So it isn't like there isn't precedent for it

To me the idea isn't intriguing at all. Also if you start adding so many characters there will be less time to leave an impression and fulfill certain character arcs. Look how Avengers: Infinity War jettisoned Banner's resolution with his Hulk side. All that important development happened off-screen.

But it fits with their multiverse gimmick they have chosen for this Saga.
