He wears the mark of the beast...Why would Jesus wear the mark of the beast?
No, not exactly.
I've asked the exact same things about Jesus.
Why would Jesus come and contradict the things he said in the Old Testament.
Why would he say "an eye for an eye" and later say "turn the other cheek"?
Why would he say to put homosexuals and witches to death, and later tell us to forgive them 70 X 7 times for their crimes?
Why would he say that it's all right to own slaves, and then say it's not all right?
Contradictions like this are easily explained away by a believer.
It's part of some "higher plan" that we are too simple to understand right now or something.
Most of these wackos who make claims like this try to represent themselves as a unification of the Yin and the Yang, in human form.
David Koresh, Charles Manson....they claim to be both the Devil and Jesus, kind of like in Star Wars how the Chosen One who brings balance to the Force is the villain.
But it's a fact, most of the Christians today, who are mostly only Christians because that's how they were raised.....if they'd been alive in the days of Jesus, they would've also written Jesus off as a dangerous, blasphemous, non-sensical cult leader.
It's just frightening to me to see people saying "Now MY dangerous, revolutionary, blasphemous cult leader is the REAL DEAL, but THIS one is a crackpot."
The Jews wanted Jesus dead.
No one's calling for the death of this guy.
On the subject of miracles, plenty of people say "Jesus was the real deal. He preformed miracles."
Ok... so... we have proof? Sure, its in the book. Thats actually, all the proof we have. So, these people claim that their messiah is performing miracles. Well, they have as much proof as we do that Jesus performed them.
It's a good theory.Well, Jesus didn't necessarily write The Bible, nor did God. He came up with the scriptures. Those scriptures were in possession of The Jews for 1200 years. I personally find it hard to believe that te scriptures remained unaltered for that long a period time. Therefore, I believe that all the stuff in The Old Testament that is contradictory, such as the stuff against homosexuality, was added by man. Man inserted their own personal prejudices into The Bible and passed it off as God's word.
I could be wrong, but I don't know. It's just a theory of mine, and one I choose to believe.
It's a good theory.
I'm pretty sure that during the translation to the Vulgate, that the translations suffered from misinterpretations.
It also depends on which monk Guttenburg took the translation from.
This news story is another great example of how ridiculous it is when C.Lee says "We need to respect everyone else's beliefs."
No. What he means is, "We need to respect the beliefs of the Big 3...Islam, Judaism and Christianity", 'cause, do all the posters here respect the beliefs of this guy and his followers.
You're full of respect for them?
Of course not.
Just like with Scientology...unpopular belief, so by all means, mock and judge to your heart's content.
well the dead sea scrolls are from something like 200 B.C. and they are word for word the exact same old testament that we have. although i think they are missing the book of RuthWell, Jesus didn't necessarily write The Bible, nor did God. i used to not understand how Jesus contradicted the laws given by Moses until i had it explained to me. the Jews were the Children of Israel, or the Children of God, they are children, they are given stricter laws that are much easier to follow. kinda like how when you were a kid you werent allowed to eat say lucky charms all the time for breakfast cuz they werent good for you, eventually you realize that there was nothing wrong with eating them, it was just your parents raising you well. same kinda thing with the Jews. its much easier to hate your enemy then to love them, but then the Messiah came and changed all that, he said its time to grow up.No, not exactly.

Heh, no. It became more of a laughing stock thanks to T. Cru, but it's always been a laughing stock. And really, Scientology didn't become rediculed until Tom Cruise became its unspoken prophet. I never heard anyone insult it until then.
The Earth isn't flat.Heh, no. It became more of a laughing stock thanks to T. Cru, but it's always been a laughing stock.
- people who believe the Earth is flat.
The Earth isn't flat.

It also so says that you should not make Idols, make wrongful use of the name of God, and that we shouldn't have gods before God.
He's breaking 3 commandments by saying this.
And I don't see him repenting any time soon.
