As for Sif, since the Portman rumor, we've not heard a single other name mentioned. Does anybody else she think she already has the role?

Yeah, until we hear something else I'm gonna operate under the assumption that Portman and Hartnett are one signature away each from having their respectively rumored parts. It's odd that we've heard so many names for Thor and only one each for Sif/Loki

I don't think it's odd. They went after names for those roles so they could get a relative unproven as Thor.

Well, when it comes to movie actresses, I can think of at least one very thorough website that specializes in those type of pictures. I'd name it, but I doubt the good people who run superherohype would approve that sort of advertisement here. t:

I don't think odd is the right word. I just mean that it seems likely they'll get the roles, otherwise we probably would have heard more names in the mix, like we did with Thor.

Maybe they're waiting until they have a Thor cast before they move on to other roles. After all, everyone else in the movie needs to play off of the actor in Thor's role.

Cobie Smulders is a great choice for the role of Sif. She's certainly got the right phenotypic traits (e.g., dark hair, bluish eyes, tall, germanic looking); equally important, Cobie can act. For some reason, I always pictured her as Jessica Drew AKA Spider-Woman.

wow, that Colbie lady definetly has a Jessica Drew vibe, just from that one picture. I'd rather see her as Spider-Woman, though if she did get Sif I wouldn't ***** about it.

I think she has a good look for the role. She's pretty in a believable warrior-woman kind of way. And based on what I've seen of her work on "Heroes" and the positive reviews she got for "Stick it", she seems to be a decent actress. I have never seen "Reaper", though.

Missy's not bad looking, but aside from having dark hair, she doesn't really resemble Sif.

I like Missy alot in everything I've seen her in (I even saw Stick It) but she just doesn't seem like Sif to me. I'm not sure why, but I'm just not digging it as much as Portman (though Portman is kinda little)

Almost anyone would be better than Portman to me. Besides her being tiny, I'd always see Natalie Portman instead of Sif. Cobie Smulders is my favorite right now, but I'd like Missy Peregrym too.

I could kinda buy Natalie Portman as Karnella...I think playing a villianess would be good for her, and I think she'd do well.

When I heard Portman was being considered for Sif my gut feeling was that she would be the wrong choice. I rarely have that kind of reaction to casting rumors, the last time being when Hartnett was said to be in the running for Loki.

It's kind of annoying that there's basically just one image of Sif floating around the net (unless you REALLY go all out to search for her). Sif's not this little girl. Fans of Thor have a pretty clear image of what the adult Sif should look like and it's not this teenager with braids. That's where all the support for Portman is coming from. Portman has a very young look to her much like Katie Holmes did in Batman Begins. Thing is.. Sif actually grew up.

Yeah, I've mentioned that before when people post the Son of Asgard Sif picture. She's the Asgardian equivalent of a teenager in that, not the full-grown goddess she'll presumably be in the movie.

I think she's got the look, the talent and the right age (was born in 1982). Can't think of anyone better than her right now.

She's convincing as a Canadian ex-teen pop star and TV news anchor in How I Met Your Mother. Not sure whether she can do epic goddess or not, but she has a great look for Sif.

Rhona Mitra looks really fake to me. I don't find her attractive at all.
