It's not a stretch to think that the gods and goddesses from a region known for taller people on average would resemble the ones their worshipped by.

I've never heard anywhere that norse women were considered tall. The men yes, but there is nothing in any of the myths or stories about Sif that would suggest she was tall.

It is a known fact, look it up, that the Scandinavian region accounts for some of the tallest people on average in the world, the Danes average 6'. The people of Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc are direct decendants of the Norse.

There's nothing in the myths to indicate that Sif was a warrior, either. The Marvel version is very different from the mythological version, and the Marvel version is very tall.

Biel looks older than she should be. Lena Headey is old by Alex Skarsgard standard. Portman is short.

The ideal Sif to me is:
- Looks about the same age as Thor, and if Skarsgard is Thor then she should look younger than 30 because Skarsgard younger looking face.
- Taller than the average height. Above 5'7" is fine.
- Preferably pale complexion in contrast with the black hair.

Eva Green is okay if not her skinny body. Right now she's more like Female Loki

I know and said this. I just said don't cite the mythology and say Portman is a bad choice. Because she is not, based on the mythology.

I saw a Masters of Horror episode (Right to Die) recently, and one of the actors was this very striking brunette named Julia Anderson. She hasn't done a whole lot, but her acting was certainly passable in the episode I saw, and she really struck me as the embodiment of Marvel's Sif.

I'd still go with Rebecca Hall.

She may be a bit skinny but even then is still a more believable female warrior matchup to Skars' Thor than Portman would be. Portman is maybe a better fit as Jane Foster.
