The Dark Knight Ledger: Joker darker more sinister

Something about Ledger's comments bother me but I can't put my finger on it.

Oh yeah "the laugh isn't important."

It's not the most important thing about the Joker but it's pretty damn immportant. I don't like that comment at all, I mean what are we going to get in the sequel? the Joker just looking crazied and mean.

I want the laugh to be very very important, it's what makes the Joker the Joker. End of story!

Hey hey, he didn't say "laugh isn't important".

He just said that eyes were always one of the important aspects in Joker's look.

He's saying the eyes are more important to telling the character's story than just his laugh. He isnt that superficial. There's a much deeper character there.

It's the exact same arguement used against Batman having lenses. You can tell a pretty powerful story with your eyes. In just the same way Batman can show his dramatic intensity with his eyes, The Joker can show his psychotic intensity with his eyes.

I hope I'm overreacting.

BTW I love your sig, it is quite funny.

I love how some two bit actor says this is how they should've had the Joker in the comics, this is what he thinks they meant to do. NO! He is in the comics the way he is because that's how they wanted him and that's how he is.

I hate how these actors and directors act like they are fixing something, like once they do the character that way then that's how it should've been all along, and this is the best version.

Heath is a horrible choice for the Joker and I could care less what he thinks. Stick to the comics 'cause DC's/Kane's Joker is the only one! Not what some actor who doesn't have a clue and doesn't care thinks. All those jerks don't care until they get that big pay check then all of a sudden they've been a fan their whole life.

Heath only got his fifteen minutes of fame for getting it up the butt in gay back mountain, who cares. Didn't see it and won't, other than that he hasn't really done anything else that got him noticed.

Stick to the comics moviemakers and actors that's where they're from, that's what came first, that is the movie you are making, you are bringing the comic book to life that has been around for decades and people love, not your vision, not your own thoughts.:hq:

I disagree with most of your post but it sure was funny.

Uhm. Well... Uhm... Heath was actually the one giving it up the butt. From what we see anyway.

You do know that Jerry Robinson is a consultant on TDK right?

Heat got this stuff with eyes right, so why some fans still have worries?

Ledger knows this character and he can act, thats enough.

If that were true, this board would be a lot smaller. :)

That eyes stuff sounds like B.S to me, so I wouldn't say he "got it right." Because although I may be overreacting, Joker's laugh is more important than his eyes.

What? Are you kidding? How could it be BS? Jeez, you sound like Ledger's hater now.

He just disagrees with Ledger, doesn't make him a hater. Don't throw that word around.

She (as I know) said that it could be BS, but it is impossible.

Depends on what he/she (no idea :) ) meant by bs. Either he didn't really say it (it's a lie) or it's just stupid. :)

All I know is that she is TOO pessimistic about TDK.

I can't understand some fans. Damn, Nolan made great BB movie and now he deserves trusting from us, but there are still worries.

Ah I SEE SPIDEY, you still haven't lost your ability to ruffle a few feathers ;)

The eyes comment probably means that they're going to make Joker look really sinister. Like a really scary looking Joker.

His laugh is of course very important. It's one of the main ways that he expresses his villainy.

People are afraid of the unkown. This is news? :)

That's cause you think you know stuff. :)

Wow, terrific job at completely misinterpreting Legder´s quote. He didn´t say they were going to portray him as he should be in the comics, but as he was meant to be in the comics, and he´s right, he´s darker and more sinister than the TV and movie versions we got. The rest of your post doesn´t even deserve an answer.

Nice find along with the Hoskins video! Finally some good updated news!

Love what Ledger had to say about how he will portray the Joker! Some of you need to calm down about what his said about the laugh.....basically he saying the laugh isn't the most important thing, when it comes to Joker....and he is right.....it's the Joker psyche which is the most intriguing thing about him....not the laugh.

TDK will be a classic! :batty:

I DUN GET what some bodies eyes have to do with the character, are they gonna sped an entire scene showing Joker eyes? Are his eyes gonna make up for lack of dialogue? Are we gonna get DR.claw in inspector gadget and only see Jokers eyes, as he watches Batman and the police try and solve his murders? This may be my youth speaking or whatever, but i dun get what eyes have to do with anything. The courts don't convict killers because their eyes are scary or thought provoking or whatever.
