With the Super Bowl a week away, I’m fascinated by these legacy sequels made in commercial form where they’re selling a product but getting the actual original actors involved for mostly impossible sequels.

Some recent examples;

Those commercials are a perfect compromise that scratches the nostalgic itch but also doesn't taint the legacy because people would call for blood if they announced an E.T. 2.

John Carpenter's Escape from Space

It's a sequel to Escape from New York set 40 years after the first film.

Kurt Russell returns as Snake Plissken and/or Wyatt Russell is Snake Plissken's son

Carpenter has been rumored to be working on a Dead Space movie so I would retrofit some of the plot of the game and include the necromorphs and what not.

Sons of El Topo, pretty much a script for a potential El Topo legacy sequel.

Laura X-23 Legacy of Logan Weapon-X

I still have some hope for a Dafne Keen Fernández as Laura X-23, Legacy of Logan Weapon-X:

Honestly they should have already used her in DP2 as the volatile kid DP has to protect, instead of that "fire fist" kid.
Also DP could have played the 4th wall break- I asked for Wolverine, I got this instead! -shtick.

Hopefully this inevitably comes to fruition, Dafne Keen Fernández looking even more like X-23

Deadpool 3 could feature a reunion between Dafne Keen's Laura/X-23 and Hugh Jackman's Logan/Wolverine if a new rumor proves to be true.

JAWS - Enough time has passed and with the popularity of some of the more recent shark film hits like 47 Meters Down, The Shallows and The Meg etc. I feel a JAWS sequel done with quality and good budget could be amazing and a massive hit. I also want them to rely on practical effects, they could do so much with animatronics in 2023.

Home Alone - I want Macaulay Culkin back in a film where either adult Kevin defends his home or where he is the father. I'd be fine with either.

Small Soldiers - I recently rewatched this with my kids. Oh how I would love to have another one!

Killer Klowns From Outer Space - This is so deserving if you are a fan like I am. It's come close a few times and with the popularity thanks to Universal Studios and Halloween Express, I feel like the time is right.

Lethal Weapon - The Time is right and the clock is ticking.

Mad Max - Furiosa is coming and I look forward to it. But I need more Max as well. Plus, I'd love to see a cameo opportunity for Mel Gibson.

Dredd - I want Karl Urban and Dredd back in any capacity.

Escape from _____ - Any new Snake Plissken movie. I love this style of film and always will.

The Man With No Name - (Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad and The Ugly) Any continuation of this franchise would be sooooo appreciated as I've been a huge fan my entire life. There are existing books and comics that could be the source of a continuing story or an original. I'd be happy with anything.

The Descent - I love and I mean LOVE these films. I've been patiently waiting for a part III and hope to get it one day. Speaking of The Descent...

The Cave - The movie ended on a cliffhanger and always had hoped for a follow up.

The Crow - I know, I know, Its had several sequels. Some.... "OK" and many horrible. I know the reboot is in post-production and hope it does well. I just need another quality Crow film of some sort.

Gremlins - What can I say.... Way overdue!

Predator - Yes... another one with a decent sequel or two but a few duds as well. But.... I specifically want one that includes some of the surviving members from previous films. Think The Expendables, but with Predator Survivors. Yes, that includes Arnie.

Die Hard - I know Bruce is not capable due to his health. I enjoyed a couple of the sequels. But, I would love to see a quality continuation of some sort.

District 9 - I enjoy this film so much. Another would potentially be fun.

Big Trouble in Little China - I just need it.

Ghost Rider - I need Cage back as Johnny Blaze and the introduction and team up with Danny Ketch and or Robbie Reyes. Think of Cage as a Sam Elliott role (from the first film) for this film but with more screen time with the other Ghost Rider(s).

Speed - Thats right, bring back Keanu for this one. I'd welcome back Jason Patric as well, but only if a team up style film.

Demolition Man - I fear this opportunity is gone, but always wanted more.

The Mummy - With Brenden Fraser

Cyborg - Yep... Ignore the official and unofficial sequels. Would love to have JCVD back in a true Cyborg sequel.

I'm sure I'm leaving some out that I've thought about before, but these are without a doubt my most favorite picks.
