Never heard of Orville Peck, but if it's just because he wears a mask most of the time...well, at least that part's right about Vega, assuming he's playing him. Though he doesn't have long hair, so would he wear a wig?

Anything is an upgrade from Taboo, who I still can't believe said in an interview for Legend of Chun-Li that Vega could be immortal.

Orville Peck is one of my favorite musicians. I haven’t seen his broadway Cabaret performance, but I’ve heard great things. If he is Vega because of the mask though, then that is indeed silly.

Also I always thought Spaniards were white hispanics rather than Latinos. So his casting doesn’t seem that far off to me racially speaking if that’s indeed the case.

Yeah if Vega is from Spain then I guess it’s okay that a white actor is playing him but it would probably be better if they found an actual Spaniard or a Latino. I dunno if it differs outside the States, but I know here Latino is used in reference to Latin America, which Spain is not a part of. And in Chicago and LA, all my Latino (and Filipino) homies view Spain as white colonizers. Now that’s anecdotal so, I’m not saying that’s the widespread view. Just what has shaped my personal understanding.

But I generally wish everyone they cast were representative of the actual character nationalities since that’s such a big function of the games. I get that actors act, but Roman as Akuma is so damn bizarre to me.

In fairness to Orville, he is getting a ton of acclaim for his Broadway turn in Cabaret. He’s done other theater stuff too and has a background in ballet. All things considered, he’s not a terrible choice for Vega. I’ll admit to bias though as I’m a huge fan of his music. And I’m not gonna try to tell Latinos or Hispanics how to feel about it.

Was just planning to watch Presence. I’ll check it out this week for sure.

All in all, my only real issue with this cast is Reigns. I do sorta wish they either paired Koji with an older Ken, or Centineo with a younger Ryu. But I’m open to seeing what their chemistry is like.
