So ridiculous that Godzilla isn't being given it's own subforum...

There would be more discussion in there than half the others...

I agree Godzilla def needs it's own subforum, I think it's going to take this one being successful and garnering a sequel.

I know I shouldn't say it to jinx it but I am really confident about this movie, even a little more than some of the summer blockbusters we're getting this year. I have a good feeling this will be successful enough to merit sequels, I'd almost bet on it.

They've built it up so much good faith so far that I would so shocked if it disappointed.

You never know though. I can almost guarantee you that, given the apparently serious tone of the film, it will have its share of bashers for not being "fun" like Pacific Rim.

I actually really like that it has a more serious and dark tone to it, it serves the character well I personally really didnt think PR was all that fun, I found it to be quite boring myself.

I don't know if Godzilla needs its own forum. Star Trek (a much bigger franchise) got its own forum and people barely post in there at all.

"IT WASN’T RIGHT THE FIRST TIME YOU SAID IT, WHY THE HELL WOULD IT BE RIGHT THE NEXT TEN TIMES?!"

:hehe:

Well a subforum to discuss the other Godzilla movies from Toho, the spinoffs, the cartoon series, not to mention the current comic series from IDW (and all past titles). The upcoming toys, etc.

This movie won't fail. The hype and publicity is snowballing. Youtube "Godzilla trailer reactions", people are losing their **** after the main trailer. The timing is also great, the themes from the movie are highly relevant, and the GA that wants skyscraper sized monsters beating the radiation out of each other probably won't be disappointed.

The month leading up to the movie is probably also going to have the (very marketable and appealing) cast doing press stuff on shows. Cranston at the very least is going to draw in major exposure. Everything about this movie has (not so) sleeper hit written all over it.

Godzilla is, IMO, the movie to look out for as far as box office goes. If it turns out well, I see this being big.

Outside of Cranston sounding ridiculous and ham , that's one fine trailer.

This may seem extremely shallow, but if the movie as a whole is simply "OK" but they nail the monster crazyness I will be very happy, I mean come on some of the classic Godzilla films are still pretty bad by todays standards lol, Im just happy this is being taken so seriously.

I think they'll tick both boxes, tying up Cranston (Not to discount the general talent of the cast), who has had a ridiculously successful few years with BB will give it great acting quality for the people who pay attention to that. And for the people that just want an adrenalin pumping blockbuster the trailer seems to be insinuating that **** will go down on a scale that hasn't really been seen before.

Godzilla 98 didn't have the most brilliant technology at its disposal, giving Godzilla a makeover with the insane CGI capabilities we have today is probably going to be jaw-dropping.

I actually really like that it has a more serious and dark tone to it, it serves the character well I personally really didnt think PR was all that fun, I found it to be quite boring myself.

Yeah, I thought PR was pretty weak and the humor was juvenile and stupid for the most part, but you never know what appeals to people, I guess. I personally prefer films like this to have a more serious tone because if something like this actually happened, we'd all be scared sh**less.

I hope it does well. I have a first issue marvel godzilla comic in mint condition from the 70's
If it does well, up up and away it will go.

I have loved the way WB and Legendary have been marketing this movie. Let the images and themes speak for themselves and not shove 90% of the movie into every trailer like some OTHER movie that is being released by Sony. ;):p:o

I'd be very surprised if this movie bombs.
