Les Miserables: Even the thread will make you cry

This just keeps looking more and more amazing.

...I am worried that Russell is the only headliner they omitted, considering he's the one everyone's been worried about from the start.

But everyone we have seen sounds so wonderful that I'm less inclined to care about the potential Crowe issue, lol.

Just like Pierce Brosnan in Mama Mia. :woot:

Pierce Brosnan in Mama Mia is what I call "bad, really bad"

Ah, the 2004 Phantom will be compared to this so unfavorably ... it won't stand a chance. Perhaps Andrew is crying somwhere, "I dreamed a dream my film would be ..." Well, I don't like that musical anyway, but the film was especially dull.

Maybe you should check out his band TOFOG on youtube to get an idea. Little known fact for everyone, Mr Crowe once tried to make a name for himself as a rock star in New Zealand in the early 90's, performing under the stage name of Russ LeRoq. No kidding. :hehe:

Oh, I'm quite familiar with TOFOG. Hence the worry, lol. The mystery is how he'll sound when he's NOT trying to sound like a rock star, because right now, I can't even fathom him doing the more classical stuff Javert requires.

But :funny: at Russ LeRoq. That part I wasn't so familiar with.

Lol, he should change his professional name to Russ LeRoq, right now!

But seriously, despite his musical background, I think the concerns over his singing ability still stand. Javert is not the kind of role that intuitively fits in with a rocker-style singer; it's like if Thom Yorke was playing this role, we'd all likely be equally as concerned.

That stated, I also doubt that Tom Hooper would let any inferior performance slide in this movie.

Someone at IMDB said the NY premiere is Dec. 10. The rumored London premiere is Dec. 3, so this movie should be done by the end of November.

I'm sure its still tentative, but if it's not then they'll likely say the date at the auction on Sunday. Since I'll probably be at the fleamarket I can find out.

And if it's at the Lincoln Square theater, it will more than make up for when they had the TDKR premiere there when I was off that day. :argh:

I'm guessing it will be at the Zeigfeld, though.

Is there a melody in Les Miserables that is used only once? Might "At the end of the day" be it?

No, they use a similar melody to "At the End of the Day" when Valjean rescues the man pinned by the cart, when the students learn of Lamarque's death, and just before Gavroche is shot.

Amazing.

Made some caps from it:

Ahh... I'm glad you made a cap of that one. Anne's smile is lovely there. :hrt:

Damned

But at least some parts of it are unique. The parts between main melody...

I feel like we're getting the trailer next week.

Neat!

And yeah, you may be right. But the Extended look definitely has new scenes likely from Trailer #2. So it must be soon.

Yeah. So if some said that Academy don't award films of one director too often unless it is something absolutely unignorable, then I guess Les Miserables will be the case of "absolutely unignorable" ...

Empty Chairs and Dog Eats Dog are only used in their respective musical numbers, I think.

Part of "empty chairs" is used in that bishop's song. But dog eats dog - there's an idea...

Hugh looking like Wolverine and Russell looking like Noah LOL.

I've made four large screen caps from the beginning of her winning smile to the end of it.
