Let's Make The Marijuana Thread Again!

I'm just referring to post in general that list problem after problem that comes from weed.

I'm not saying cannabis can't possibly have adverse effects but I doubt the alcohol thread has people constantly bringing up problems linked to alcohol usage.

well that's because alcohol's 100% legal. i don't know where you're from but even stateside, where pot's legal, it is still illegal by federal law. dumbest thing ever.

edit: 10th page! let's rejoice. :shr:

Going to spend some time later tonite with my lady friend again and she's bringing me my "guffy", and promises to wear something special to boot. She doesn't smoke but in a smallish bedroom, and with the quality of the stuff she brings, I am sure she gets a good contact high. And then she starts getting frisky. Boo-yah!!!

Ehhh, I didn't mean for my post to sound so negative. I still smoke a few times a month and enjoy it... but yeah, I'm definitely one of the people who finds it worsens anxiety. Which is odd because most people I know say the exact opposite.

I'm entirely pro-weed generally though.

I've stayed sober since new years. Strangely I've been getting high a lot in my dreams. I even clearly remember, getting ready to take a hit and before I could my mom just waltzed into my room and woke me up.

People can get drunk, projectile vomit, have regretful sex, get into stupid fights, black out, pee themselves, slur their speech, etc and they're considered a fully indoctrinated adult...

but if you ingest a natural plant that makes sex, music, movies, food, and nature feel better then you're immature apparently.

Fantastic post. Short but true in every character and your intention of exposing hypocrisy

I spoke too soon, I broke my 11 day streak and blazed one today.

I had this highdea, since I have the two tragically heroic threads racism and frustration,

a lot of people that know me say I'm a funny guy. I've always wanted to be on tv/hollywood, so what if I started this sitcom or drama with characters of all different ethnicities - brown, bengali, middle eastern, asian, native american, and so on and so forth. and they wouldn't be written stereotypically.. like although perhaps everyone's culture may play a role in their character arc/development, they'll all still be unique and distinguishing individual characters.

guys, guys... I love me some mj, but ever since the new years I've also just been trying to better myself altogether.

Like I said, I think hereditarily I got high blood pressure and sometimes when my mood isn't good or I'm paranoid my heart beats really fast, so for me, the combo with it and marijuana probably isn't good for MY health.

Ever since new years, I've also improved with the whole, "pray 5 times a day thing", which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. I also haven't been smoking during that period so I wanna just see if I can give it up altogether. Maybe tone it down it down once a 4/20 thing or something, I dunno. Coz a lot of the time I definitely do love it.

Plus I just graduated and I'm unemployed, I'd like to not take a risk for drug tests - which by the way, now that I did it again, how long till I'm in the clear for one, 2 weeks? 3 weeks? A month?

It's been a long fun ride, but I dunno if just for me, personally, it's the best thing ya know.

I still agree with everyone. It being illegal is the dumbest thing ever. And every year that it continues this way I won't trust the government (and I'm sure people have other reasons as well).

Nothing is wrong with weed if you take care of your responsibilities.

But if you need a break for health reasons and employment opportunities then I wouldn't blame you for stopping.

Once your life is in order it will be easier to see what the real source of your problems is.

I doubt it's the weed though. :ninja: Unless you smoke way too much.

But best of luck and please keep us updated. We're pulling for you whether you're sober or baked. :cwink:

I don't..think I smoke too much...but when I have it, I tend to smoke it :hehe:

I meant to say that when I smoke, later if something happens to make me uneasy, it makes my heart beat really fast which not only ruins my but it just sort of puts me in a mental panic mode.

But I agree, once I am a fully established man with a place of my own I probably would not mind vaping to myself every now and then. The only other thing though is I'd like to see myself meeting a nice girl and then one day even being a family man. By that point, I dunno if I should still be doing.

HOWEVER, with that being said, I hate the double standard with alcohol. Being brought up Muslim I just always pretty much stayed away from that. I have done it a handful of times in my life though, and sure it's a great time and all, but... I can live without it. I can obviously live without marijuana too but like, I don't go to bars. If bars served marijuana though, you can bet your ass I'd go to them. When I turned 21, nothing really changed.

Basically what I'm saying is, I want marijuana to be that drug of choice for me just like how alcohol is for the average man.

There was however a point in time, half of sophomore year until senior year (my first senior year, since I was a super senior level 2 since it took me nearly 6 years to graduate) where I smoked a lot. It cost me my GPA, and I also got into trouble a lot.

Nowadays though, I don't smoke as much but the [BLACKOUT]mental[/BLACKOUT] addiction is still there. I can go several weeks without smoking (I went the entire Ramadan without doing it, even had buddies toking right in front of me but still abstained)

Thank you for your support though, MD. That's always much appreciated, from everyone.

Dude, I know people who used to smoke like every day multiple times a day, and they're successful dudes. If you can maintain a responsible life with it, by all means. You might end up a little slower and have some slight psychological issues though, lol

he managed to stay pretty calm. normally rappers would flip out over stuff like this.

Washington, DC: District Officials Move Forward To Enact Municipal Depenalization Initiative

District of Columbia city officials this week moved forward with their intentions to implement a voter-approved municipal initiative depenalizing marijuana possession and cultivation offenses.

On Tuesday, city officials confirmed that Initiative 71 was transmitted to Congress for review. Under federal law, all District laws are subject to a 30-day review process by Congress, during which time members may take action to halt the law’s implementation.

Speaking to Roll Call this week, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said that language previously adopted by Congress in a December 2014 spending bill already prohibits DC officials from implementing I-71 and, thus, no further action by Congress is necessary. However, several District officials – including DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson – said that the federal provision in question in no way blocks city officials from enacting the new law.

“The District’s examination agrees with our analysis that the initiative was enacted when voters approved it and will take effect at the end of the 30-day congressional review period,” Del. Norton said in a statement.

Chairman Mendelson agreed, saying, “I happen to believe that the initiative was enacted so I think there’s no question that after the 30-day review it will be law.”

The District of Columbia Attorney General’s office has not yet commented in regard to how the District will respond if Congress does not address the initiative during the review process, Roll Call reported.

In November, 70 percent of District voters approved I-71, which removes criminal and civil penalties regarding the adult possession of up to two ounces of cannabis and/or the cultivation of up to six plants.

Separate DC municipal legislation – ‘The Marijuana Legalization and regulation Act’ – which seeks to regulate commercial cannabis production and retail sales, is also pending before the Council. If enacted, this legislation would also go before lawmakers for Congressional review and likely would force a federal challenge.
