huh? what are you talking about?
mentally, it's pretty hard, man. i wish we lived in a society where it was not legal, so that I could just do it when I want because I do want to become completely straight edge some day; but while I am on this stage of my life I want to be able to do this thing, without having to worry about the goddamn law. just like people who drink alcohol. that's a vice, and no one has to worry about the law when they're drinking.
yeah, I understand you.
I wish there were more uniform laws re this, too. not different laws in different states that are then contradicted at the federal level.
personally, I'm torn on the issue.
being straight edge, I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Never have and I have no desire to do so. So in that sense, I'm "against" drugs ( and drinking and smoking ).
However, that's my own personal, individual choice. So, while I don't approve or condone these activities, I feel it should be up to the individual to decide. And it isn't really my place to judge others.
(I will however encourage someone to choose sobriety if one seems to be struggling to stay sober. Which is what I thought you were alluding to in your post about being sober for months but hating it.)
So, I guess I have a more libertarian view on this subject.
As you said, there are other vices like alcohol ( or tobacco ) that are legal, with laws and restrictions that regulate their sales and usage.
