If Boone delivers with The New Mutants, then I'd like him to replace Bryan Singer.
He was gone well before the release. He has done too much for the franchise for Fox to just kick him out forever.
But, he definitely needs a break. I loved Apocalypse and the final scene, but it worries me he may make the action a bit too much "beam spammy".
No, let Boone do his New Mutant gig.
It won't be a break.he is totally gone now.
Boone hasn't even made new mutants and people want him to be given X-Men?
I would be surprised if Fox wanted him to return at this point.
If he wants to come back for a OT reunion, then sure. If they insist on pushing forward in the past (an odd thing to say) then fresh blood is needed.
He can stay on for as long as he wants imo. For the most part he treats these characters with respect, and injects tons of heart into these films. I'm always surprised at how emotionally involved I am with his X-Men films. When you look at this from a distance all of this stuff is ridiculous, and yet there have been several times where I've teared up at certain moments in his films (Jean death, "All those years wasted fighting each other Charles, and Apocalypse taunting Charles near the end). Due to these things Singer has my upmost respect when it comes to X-Men, and I'm not going to condemn him just because he slightly stumbled on one film out of four.

Agreed, well said. Without Singer there would be no X-Men movie universe and possibly no CBM golden age like we are in now.
The guy shouldn't just be thrown under the bus because he made one movie I'm the franchise the critics and fans didn't gush over. I personally loved Apoc though and would certainly not mind him staying on as producer if he doesn't want to direct.

There is also a color smbolism. Beast and Mystique are blue where Scott and Jezn both see in red. Apocalypse was blue and in the end Charles has a blue costume for the first time. It passes to him as he accept is "blue form" too. It is only then than Mystique stands by him.
Also Jean and Scott meet for real in green, nature, where Beast/Raven where always on the inside and technology. Since the movie is about nature/technology this become surprisely accurate. Showing the change from a trilogy (cure/texhnology) to the other (enhancing powers/nature).
Goign even further: scott-jean-kurt are the new trinity and they all see in red. Nightcrawler was in a cage with a bird and rescued by Mystique. Scott was welcome to School and given his glasses by Beast. both will help Jean.
Mystique-Kurt, Beast-Scott (beast is responsible for havok death), Charles-Jean... in this way it would make another trinity and legacy. And what is add to this is Quicksilver and Storm who were both looking for father-mother-leader figure, wich they will find in Mystique-Beast-ProfessorX, both were living in a basement and both thief.(they were captured by apocalypse/stryker within a four person group of two man and two woman).
Both Mystique and Beast thought the X-Men should exist and Xavier should militariz himself but he wouldn't, he was too much of a pacifist, and it is finally when he does that all access their blue form, all in blue all in harmony.
And this give the new X-Men team. Rock and roll, blend the old and youth in a new way.
(Also Kingberg explained in a interview he used colors for each character and made a board with each character linked in relation to the other, wich i personnaly like, synesthesia).
Even further with the color but Charles is wearing a purple shirt through the movie and looking for Moira, he stated he is not a pervert when he recognize looking for her. Singer said Psylocke represented Sex. She is purple. Through the movie Charles's head was not in the right place, lol, and it's when he get bald, monastic, that he will finally win and give Moira's memory back. He will access upgrade to it's mental space, become stronger as his house become steonger.
Conclusion of the movie: Charles learned how to protect himself, ^lol^
LOL this was hilarious. I'm sure they did try to use color symbolism to some reasonable extent, but it's too much of a stretch to find deep meaning in things like wearing a purple shirt, regardless of the intention.

Take three consecutive scenes: in one Jean shot an arrow and Scott destroy a tree, in the second when she has her nightmares we have a shot of a picture of a forest/trees burning and they are birds of paper in her room, last scene Erik's daughter die in the woods while summoning birds and shot by an arrow.
She die as she was awakening a strong connection to nature, Apocalypse to awaken Magneto will tell him to "reach deep within the earth" and will make a speech about "...burning a forest and feom the ashes of their world ...". Magneto litterally rip the earth apart of it's magnetic pole while he is in a bubble, closing himself from the world. This is an interesting parallels with our society or man's attitude to isolate himself from the world and change the natural order. This even make Erik lost more tragic as he did everything right and loos his family purely because of fate.
Charles told Scott the tree was a childhood memory, Erik get to live again a painfull memory in the forest, he loose again his family. Apocalypse state that he wznt to destroy civilization, buildings, technology, ... He represent the will to go back to nature in a radical way "rule of the fittest".Charles believe in a different view of nature where "the strong help the ones who needs it". It's a contrast beetwen two views of the world and of nature, as often depicted.
This is the first time we have a accent put on nature in XMen. In this movie they made Trees and forest represent memory and the red represent the super powers and their possible destructive effect. Both Scott and Jean who are having a hard time dealing with there power have red visons, Scott the trees and Jean her nightmare visions. This enhanced emotion and Apocalypse Leitmotiv.
In the end the final color being blue, a calming color wich is blue. Red-Green are opposite colors and blue is in the middle. As well as the movie being about seeking balance, learning to calm you unlimited power of destruction. The movies end with re-building home, a new family has been made and people to defend it. Harmony and solid foundation.
Yes i add the Psylock sexy stuff for the fun, glad it was hilarious, i least i suceeded at that. The grid of colors open other level of lecture, purpke is often associated with sexual desire or mystery but it's the one that were the less expressed in the movie or having a clear meaning (Singer said Psylock represented Sex so i draw from that). It's too bad because there was much to built a tremendous film in those ideas but some plays bad on screen with the editing and some dialogues. I think it cut many people off the emotion wich i found really deep. (Themes like nature-childhood associated may not touch everyone also).
I just check a chromatic circle and beetwen red and green is purple and blue, blue being closer to green and purple to red. It goes well with the intention i explained so even purple find a meaning.
Putting this much emphasis on symbolism just makes the movie seem more and more absurd. It was just not good enough for any of this to hold much weight. I am glad you pointed some of this out but frankly this is a bit of a stretch and even if that much symbolism was intended, it seems meaningless.
Props to ApophènX for making a lot of connections between things in the movie.
