I respect Lexi and Ray for wanting to bring a fresh and more authentic Punisher to us. Lets face FACTS, Thomas Jane didn't exactly deliver a note worthy punisher flick. The movie was received poorly and yet people want to consider it like its a classic. People already hating this movie because they don't want it to suceed or can't stand to see Ray fill Jane's shoes. What more can you ask from what they're doing with this movie. Yo want a higher body count, darker and grittier feel, and its more authentic to the source. People are just going to complain out everything. Just face it, you just can't please everyone.

I can understand constructive criticism. Perhaps this isn't the vision of Punisher you like or you don't like the way its shot, but some folks have just been hating on this movie as soon as it was announced Jane was gone and have been looking for any excuse to dislike the movie without giving it a chance.

I don't know about anyone else but Jane's leaving kinda set off warning signs as to how bad the movie may be. 4 years and a bunch writers with bad scripts that it got to the point where he had a meeting with the producers and writers to to set an outline for how the film should be (realistic and mean) and well that failed too.

And then apparently they had John Dahl up for the directing but he passed because the script was still bad, and apparently Walter Hill was willing to do it, if he was able to do a page 1 rewrite, which Lions Gate refused for some reason, which leads to where we are right now.

Come on do you really think just because Jane left this movie will fail. Jane did ok but sure wasn't memorable. I did'nt even know who Thomas Jane was until he was in The Punisher. I seen Deep Blue Sea the over night and then i recognized he was in it and that movie came out way before The Punisher. I don't think Jane is a big enough name in hollywood to fill seats in theatres so why do people act like without him the movie will be horrible. Lets give Ray a shot and see what he's made of in December.

One teaser trailer and she feels like she's top of the world. I don't care how spunky or how much a backbone she has; the lighting was good, the action was good, but Stevenson's acting was full of monotony and I felt they tried too hard with the "God" line because it seemed like she was trying to copy the "God's going to sit this one out..." line from the 04' film.

It's one thing to have gore and blood but it's another to have story too. Hope she remembers that.

I kind of agree, Stevenson was aboit droning, especially with his voice, sometimes I get the feeling of Dracula meets Punisher. The lines in the script were full of monotony, and the story is just your basic skeleton for an action flick. There were some good moments, like the fight at the end, but I really could have done without that "guilt trip." All in all, it's no where near a true Punisher film. Ehh, maybe Marvel should go the way of Disney and open another studio to represent their darker characters. It would be nice to see Tony Stark discussing the Avengers Initiative on the tv in the Punisher's den in the first half of the movie. But sigh, they have no vision.

I don't know how hollywood works but this is supposed to be Lexi's film, ain't it? And how it is received may be pretty much down to her, so shouldn't she be involved in the trailer, which is pretty freaking important in whetting appetites? I can't imagine John F. not being involved in the iron man trailers. And this scares me "I had no clue...". May just show how freakin' clueless she is. Some of you guys have been gushing just cause Lexi, a woman, is directing the movie. You guys would feel the same even if she looked liked my dog's ass.

I'm no hater or troll. I wanted to love (even like) the Dolph and Jane versions, but at best they were b-grade movies, standard action fillers (Dolph's version may have been c-grade but at least it had some style). I want to give Ray the chance to punish the guilty, and Lexi a chance to load the gun, come out with a Punisher movie with some "meat". And so i waited anxiously for the trailer. Bang Bang Bang, Ho hum.... Judging solely from the trailer - take away the skull and the punisher reference and it would not be discernable from your average Don "The Dragon" Wilson action movie on your cable tv. And some of you guys hooh-hahhing about the trailer would get a hard on seeing a punisher burger at Mcdonalds.

And what about the infamous chandelier scene? I mean, did Frank test whether the chandelier would hold his full weight while he is twirling on it? Kinda funny imagining Frank testing it in an empty room turning round-n-round upside down. And what happens when he is shakin' with the guns going of in his hands and the chandelier breaks and the frank falls on the table and cracks his own head? ****in' hilarious. I know this is supposed to be a comic based movie BUT a little realism in a basic action movie won't be out of place. Can you imagine a scene in "Black Hawk Down" where a special forces/delta guy hangs upside down on a beam mowing down the somalis as they rush him? yeah, get real. This must be Lexi's "fire hydrant" attempt. Maybe Frank did the twirling in Vietnam on them trees but I don't recall reading it before in any comic. I hope the rest of the movie is more realistically intelligent ie no attempt at director's originality like a car-bonfire *** flaming-skull or **** like that.

And here's the clincher - " I’m starting to realize how huge The Punisher fan base is." What....The....F**k? Lexi, you mean to tell me you didn't know, until now? Did your research consist of sitting on your ass reading the comics, that's it? Speak to any fan at any comic con and they could tell you how big the fan base is. Telling us now that "you're starting to realise.." makes me start to realise what a turd this movie may turn out to be.

I really, really hope I am wrong and if this movie kick-ass, I'll be the first to swallow my balls; but I get the feeling that i'm gonna get punished again, and not in a good way.

I am one of the "haters" and I am still a hater, sorry. Things that were good about the trailer: for a teaser it gave us a lot which is cool, in some scenes ray looks pretty cool, when he slides on his knees and shoots looks bad ass and the bad: the fist fight scenes look horrible. Throwing people threw cement walls, punches that looked like complete crap. The color scheme, the punisher's bulletproof jacket(it would be fine if he used it for specific scenes but all the time looks stupid, from what I saw in the trailer Ray's voice sucks and the lines sound pretty corny.I know this has already been brought up enough but the chandieler scene is lame.
I'm going to just wait this out and hope this was the worst stuff but I doubt it.

Hell yea the Punisher burger should be mad hot, it should be on the specialty list you know? I was going to reccomend some psychadelic mushrooms in honor of the first issue of Punisher Circle of Blood as well! What type of bread should be used? I want to say sourdough (to compliment the black and white theme)
