Conservative humor has always been funny or else the Simpsons would not be so popular.

Are you implying that the Simpsons is somehow conservative?

Because it's not. In fact, the creator Matt Groening, one of my heroes, is a radical leftist who worships at the alter of Abbie Hoffman and other like-minded radicals. As well, much of the staff is either atheist or agnostic, and once devoted an entire episode to bashing the Republican party. (Sideshow Bob Roberts) In fact, the only right-winger on the writing staff I can think of is John Swartzwelder, and he's a Libertarian.

The Simpsons suck at political humor. Really badly. The Boondocks, American Dad, the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and South Park are the best.

I also hate Lisa Simpson, she always goes off acting like she's superior to everyone.

American Dad is the ****ed out shell of Family Guy. It occasionally does a decent job with political humour, but it's anvil-on-the-head nature automatically puts it out of it's depth beside the Daily Show, The Colbert Report and South Park (I don't watch Boondocks).

I also vaguely disagree with your comment about the Simpsons sucking at political humour. It doesn't do it very much, but when it does it's frequently dead-on and fairly bipartisan, such as Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington, Lisa Vs. Malibu Stacy and Sideshow Bob Roberts. Other episodes that deal with an issue that might seem political do it in a way that is not political, such as Two Bad Neighbours, in which George Bush moves to town and is used as a meta comment more than political satire.

Yes, but this is perhaps because she is contrasted against a world of imbeciles and ignorants. If you were to exist in such a world, you would probably find yourself coming off a tad superior at times.

Luckily Lisa's position on the show is also made fun of at times, such as in Scenes From The Class Struggle In Springfield, where she is seen as a PC nuisance who is instantly distracted from her cause by ponies.

I like American Dad but yes, the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and South Park are superior to it.

I loved it in the Daily Show when people were talking about the downfall of the Republican party because of the successes the Democrats had in the governor races in Virginia and New Jersey...states that already had Democratic governors.

I'm not talking about the older ones or the George Bush one (which were funny and true), I'm talking about the newer ones that have dealt with outsourcing and such and where Lisa goes off acting like she's superior to other people and thinking that her beliefs are inferior to hers.

Oh God, believe me, I have no love for current Simpsons. The current writers are hacks, and I don't trust them to make a statement on raspberry jam, let alone politics. I agree with you there.

Actually I am somewhat guilty of that. When most of the people in school say something about George W. Bush they usually don't what the hell they are talking about and I easliy tell them why they are wrong (such as Bush not being responsible for gas prices or that the economy is actually doing pretty well). That's why I much prefer to talk about politics at the Hype, because people who bash Bush here usually know what they are talking about and when you disagree with them, they don't call you a Nazi or a Communist :o

However with the newer writers, they have giving Lisa an even bigger superiority ego.

Doesn't matter, I still hate that b***h

I still like the Simpsons, just not as much as the older ones. The one where they accused both Family Guy and American Dad of plagarism was hilarious.

Yeah, her depth went out the window right about the time Homer tried some medicinal marijuana.

There's a difference between classic likeable Lisa with a tad bit of superiority because she is surrounded by idiots and current b***h Lisa who thinks that what she thinks is better than anyone in the entire world.

Press 7 for Kieth Oberman. Who is so obsessed with O'Reilly he even wastes whole segments on him. Who cares about Iran getting nukes when you can spend five minutes bashing O'Reilly? Oberman can also tell you about his days as a scrappy kid going "you want to fight me?, huh? Huh? You can't fight me."

Dial 1-800-IHATE-LIBERL for Sean Hannity, who will tell you that no Republician can do wrong. And how every Democrat is EVIL! EVIL and unamerican.

Dial 671-986-1102 For the racial ambulance chasers Al Sharpton and Mr. Jackson. Who see racism everywhere, Narlins, Banks, King Kong, etc (yet they never help out a white kid). And who know what it's like to be black......far away from the ghettos......in nice houses.......being on talkshows....yes, they know the black expierence....

Dial 777-669-666 For liberals who believe in free speech. Such as making fun of Jews, Christians, Republicans, etc. Porn "art" with the Virgin? No problem. Making fun of Muslims? "Horrible!" "Disgusting" or not a word at all defending the cartoonists.

Dial 555-444-789 For a line to the Pope. He'll tell you how evil and "satanic" the world is, and how the church is here to help you out. Yes, he knows how evil things are. Priests molesting kids, telling people to break the law, he himself making the church more irrelevant, refusing to evolve...

I just find it funny a thread like this has to be made fun of to make fun of liberals when all you have to do to make fun of conservatives is watch the news.

I love it when all you have to do to make fun of liberals is listen to one of their speeches and then look at their actions. And watch the news.
