The Dark Knight Likes And Dislikes

Like:

- Almost everything I've seen so far

Dislike:

- Not too sure about the new Bat costume yet. We'll see how it looks on screen...
- Some of the dialogue I've heard is a little corny, like the bank manager's "What do you believe in, huh? WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IN??"

I like all that I have seen so far. It's hard to judge a movie by trailers nd hearsay alone. Spider-man 3 looked great but turned out to be a musical with a dancing Peter Parker sporting a EMO hairstyle. Oh and I forgot this movie was again all about Mary Jane.

Me personally,I like every single thing I seen from the trailers to tv spots to the prologue,I LOVE IT ALL.

Likes:

- seems to have a more epic, expansive feel

- the cinematography already looks more energetic and sweeping

- most of the cast and crew returning

- Heath Ledger as The Joker seems to be on the right track, personality-wise, like what I keep hearing about The Joker being a force of chaos and destruction (reminds me of Man Who Laughs) and trying to prove to Batman that his rules are ridiculous (reminds me of The Killing Joke)

- Eckhart and Nolan really seem on the right track with Harvey Dent, from all the comments I've heard from them, I really like that they describe Two-Face as still having Harvey's intentions but going about them the wrong way, sounds very in line with how Two-Face is portrayed in The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, which is my favorite Two-Face depiction

- Maggie Gyllenhaal is a better actress than Katie Holmes

- seems to be really expanding on groundwork laid at the climax of Batman Begins and building up to a really intense crisis for Batman both externally and internally (externally with Joker throwing Gotham into chaos, Harvey's scarring and downfall, possibly Rachel dying, gang war, etc. and internally with Bruce realizing there is not going to be any foreseeable end to Batman, and being tempted to go against his principles and kill The Joker to end the chaos). Seems like a very complex, ambitious plot with all kinds of stuff going on that will all lead up to Batman really being tested more intensely than anything in Begins.

- little touches, like The Joker making television appearances, his hijacked semi reading "slaughter is the best medicine", the rooftop scene between Batman, Gordon, and Dent straight out of The Long Halloween, Harvey's coin

Dislikes:

- you can see the word "Chicago" in some shots in the trailer, I just hope those are edited out in the finished movie

- while Gyllenhaal is a better actress than Holmes, I still feel Rachel Dawes is a superfluous and unnecessary character who's more of a plot device

- I think The Joker looks too "messy" and would really look a lot better without a cut smile (it seems to interfere with Ledger's already huge grin and actually make his mouth look smaller). I would also have much preferred if he was permawhite.

- why not just name "Ramirez" and "Stephens" Montoya and Bullock, as they seem to serve the same purposes?

- was hoping Scarecrow would have more than a cameo, but a little Scarecrow is better than no Scarecrow

- the Batsuit is too *busy*

How Heath Ledger proved us all wrong when we saw the second tralier.

The first time we get more on the physco , darker version of the Joker.

The way Two Face looks.

Dislikes.

Nothing.

-Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes (Shes So Ugly)

Dislikes:

- Bat suit

- Joker isn't perma-white

- The Recasting of Rachel

Likes:

- EVERYTHING ELSE

I personally think the non-permawhite thing turned out great. On paper it sounds like a terrible idea but I absolutely love the idea of the Joker being a "punk rock" anarchist, and I think the messy make-up plays very well into it. Also makes him look scary as hell.

i'm saving all judgement until i see the movie, which i'm confident will be really good.

Dislikes:

Tiny Lister. I don't have anything against the man...But he's so familiar (and in comedies and some bad films).

I'm afraid when I see his big frame and bulging eyes it'll take me completely out of the film. But hopefully I'm wrong.

Likes:

So far, everything else.

They could have done that and still had him perma-white...

Likes:

Batman's new suit

Heath Ledger as The Joker

Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent

The score

Dislikes:

No permawhite Joker

The return of Rachael Dawes

-Dislikes:

The possible existence of bad one-liners a la "Nice Coat", "Nice ride" and "I gotta get me one of those".

-Likes:

Everything else.

I think it's pretty funny that someone thinks a movie with the Joker in it could exist without humor on some sort of level.

But seriously, this movie looks to have much more tension than Begins did.

Since theres a "concern thread" I thought I'd make something somewhat similar but this is straight and to the point. What do you like and dislike about the movie so far?

Heres my dislikes:

Atmosphere

Less serious tone

Dialouge (from what I've heard)

Not as dark as BB

Likes:

Batsuit

Batpod

Jokers look/personality

Dent being the backbone of the film

Cinematography

Partly IMAX

All the subplots

And theres a bunch more but just cant think of em all

Insanity :down

I like everything so far, except the cowl of course :o

Likes:
Joker in all his glory
Mob war
Batman being kind of crazy
hopefully....rachel dies
The whole story really rocks

Dislikes
Still, too many characters scares me
Bullock and montoya having different names but I think that will actually change in the movie
Dialogue( all though it seems to get better the more I see)
Batpod is lame sorry
Mask for the suit I like a lot about the suit but the mask was better in begins

Dislikes:
Gordon!!!!
Still my least favorite part about begins besides batman allowing ras to die. He seemed like comedy relief half the time. I want a hard core bad mo fo gordon. I love oldman and there were redeeming qualities to his charcter but I want to see him kick butt like year one. I want to see an angry cop who wants to clean the city just as much as batman with as much fire but who doesn't break the rules to do it and doesn't wear a mask.

Likes: Cake
Dislikes: Hay fever

oh wait, I think i got the wrong end of the stick....

sometimes conebone, you just surprise me. each and everyday with your wacky antics

Likes:

- The Joker

-Plot inspired by The Long Halloween

-Harvey Dent's role

Dislikes

-I hope that Starbucks gets CGIed out. I hope that Chicago will get digitally enhanced once again. So far, I'm not seeing it unless they're not revealing anything yet.

-The Batsuit..kinda. I hope that it'll look good overall. I'm a supporter of it, but I do have to admit, sometimes it looks weird.

-I do agree that Ramirez could've been easily Montonya.

Dislikes .....?

-the fact that the french release is 2 weeks after the US one but who cares here:woot::woot::oright ?

Hesitates about......?

-the new suit....I like it, no doubt about that but I can't stop thiking the BB one was much more massive and thus more threatening....but let's see how it turns out in the movie !

Likes....?

-everything.....from the cast to the cinematography, in addition to Ledger's performance, the first extracts and so on......! This will be a hot moment in the cold movie theater that night !!:woot::woot::woot:

Atmosphere

Less serious tone

Dialouge (from what I've heard)

Not as dark as BB

...sure, TDK seems to have a bit more humor than BB, but I dont think its any less serious or dark. And the atmosphere looks great. I dunno about these. I just feels like you pulled these from out of nowhere so that it wont seem like your head over heels in love with TDK like the rest of us... ;)

Heres mine...

Likes: Pretty much everything. Joker's portrayal and look, in particular.

Dislikes: Too soon to say, but I'm not exactly in love with the new batsuit.

Likes: Everything

Dislikes: Waiting one full month and 2 weeks for the movie itself
