Yeah I've seen estimates between $80 to $110 million beforehand. We'll see how far it goes. Domestic numbers are very good for now. :woot:

actully based on predictions i heard 80 to 85 million is very good.some predictions had it at 70 million and others 60.

Nearly made it's production budget of $97 million back in one weekend.

Awesome news!
I'm glad Logan is doing great. Very well deserved. Happy for James Mangold & Co., who clearly poured their hearts into this movie.
Also great news for people (like me) who would like to see more R-rated and unique blockbusters which push the envelope.

Just as he’s torn into the domestic weekend, 20th Century Fox/Marvel’s Logan has shredded it offshore. The international box office debut for Hugh Jackman’s final turn as Wolverine handily clawed its way to $152.5M from 81 markets. This is Fox International’s 3rd biggest launch of all time, behind X-Men: Days Of Future Past ($172M) and Avatar ($164M). Globally, the bow is $237.8M.

The James Mangold-directed pic opened to No. 1 in 80 out of 81 markets. In IMAX, and at $20.6M, this is the 2nd-biggest R-rated global debut behind Fox’s similarly-R-rated Deadpool. Internationally, it is the biggest R-rated IMAX release ever with $10.6M on 687 screens. What’s more, the gritty superhero pic is also the biggest 2D IMAX opening offshore. Both records outstrip Deadpool in the format, particularly thanks $4.4M on 388 in China.

The Middle Kingdom is tops overall, unclenching $46.3M at No. 1 and 33% bigger than X-Men: Days Of Future Past. China was the top market on 2013’s The Wolverine, finaling at $41M. Last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse grossed $121M in the PROC and 2014’s Days Of Future Past ultimately picked up $116.5M there.

Wow. Who knew it would open that big. It would have been bigger if this was an actual X-Men film and not another Wolverine movie. But good for Fox.

Me, lol. I mean, a lot of folks did. This is billed as Hugh Jackmans last take on the character, that alone puts butts in the seats. Not to mention one of the best trailers ever, that lit the internet on fire.

Oh and also sitting at that 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for 2 weeks before release. Word spread, people bought their tickets. Rotten Tomatoes has more pull than people think.

I'm surprised it didn't make more, I had originally predicted 90 million, but 85 is good!

The weekends to come are going to be killer on it's legs though.

Well that is nothing new. X-Men films especially Wolverine movies are front loaded. Though it should easily outgross First Class and Apocalypse in North America.

Yes, the competition will be strong but the interesting take will be repeat business.

It'll be interesting to see because most non-fans aren't going to like the ending. Certainly most people including some fans will not want to see this again. Yet, word of mouth saying it's strong will get a lot of new views.

I'm in both camps. This movie HAS to be seen it's so good but I personally don't want to sit through it again for a long long while.

I am only seeing it twice in the cinema which I already did. Now, my wallet is on the other four movies that will open this month.

It beat Origins by 300K lol.

It could change once the actual numbers are out. Plus remember, tickets are much more expensive now compare to 2009. Origins was also leaked, had tons of bad reviews and wasn't released on IMAX.

They were only projecting $170m globally, so an impressive result. $237m means it should be close to being in profit territory already for Fox on the back of its budget.

Logan's killing it worldwide :woot:

Initial projection was 170M WW and it made 152M OS, wow.

I'm guessing 220M DOM/100M China/330M OS=650M WW

Budget 100M, account for product placement/marketing etc, 150M budget altogether, b.o receipt=280M, cable/toys/blu ray etc gives another 150M, guessing a projected profit of 250-300M?

Will wait for that Deadpool projection article.

Interesting how Deadpool was banned in China and this one made it there, wonder how much censorship was there.

Just checked one of my local theaters website, curious as to how sales are going today... and they've sold out every showtime so far today. And the 7 pm showtime is already sold out. The 9 pm showtime only has about 10 seats left.

And it's not like this theater is the only one around. There's multiple theaters in this area.

It's great to see!

Wow, nice WW results, especially for an R-rated flick.

Logan being ahead of Apocalypse in China, without a Warcraft type event incoming, is a very good sign for Logan in China. Breaking $600 mil is definitely looking feasible.

I do think Logan is going to have stronger legs than is typical for an X film. So this is going to be exciting.

I'm just happy it had a bigger opening than Origins, even if it was close.

Weren't the original estimates like 65-70 million?
