Loki LOKI General Discussion Thread

This looks cool. Nice suprise to see Black Widow in the trailer, thought they'd keep that under wraps! Would love to see a scene with different Loki's all together like Richard E, and then female Loki, kid Loki, Frost Giant Blue Loki etc. That'd be smart.
Black Widow wasn't in the trailer

that’s not Black Widdow. It’s probably Lady Loki or Enchantress...or both lol

I hope he doesn’t redeem himself here and he remains the plotting god of mischief, who saves the universe, but was kinda forced to it.
Clearly the case. Owen Wilson even has a line in the trailer "You broke reality. I want you to help us fix it"

Sigh. Yes I've just been informed of my mistake. Ha. Clown.

my lol refers to Lady Loki and Enchantress being probably be the same (which I didn’t knew 2 months ago)

In an earlier version of the Avengers Endgame script, past Thanos was going to go the earth of his time and kill the Avengers and destroy New York before going to the 2023 timeline. I am wondering if the shot of Loki walking around the destroyed New York in the trailer is the aftermath of that, and that early idea is being used as part of this show.

Or that could be a glimpse of some of the consequences if Loki and the time cops screw up or fail their mission. Whatever did it had enough power to lift, roll, and crumple the bedrock of New York and lay skyscrapers on their sides. Reminds me of a mudslide.

If we're going to see alternate timelines I want to see one in which Loki was made the protector of earth by Odin because Thor was dead, evil, or never existed.

And I hope the time cops mention or deal with Steve staying in the past with Peggy. I want to know the consequences of that.

I see a huge sh**storm coming for this show because a lot of people thinking Black Widow will show up here and "recognize" her in the trailer already.

New trailer was great and this looks a lot more interesting than Falcon & Winter Soldier has been thus far.

Bingo. I don't understand why Marvel does this. They CLEARLY intended that character to look like Black Widow. Even the outfit looks like Black Widows costume. This is only gonna lead to mass disappointment. It's Evan Peters in WandaVision all over again.

I don't. Maybe by some die hards but general fans won't care or even expect Black Widow to show up.

"You've literally stabbed someone in the back 50 times."

"And I'll never do it again!"

:funny:

Loki has always been my favourite character. I'm so pumped for this show. He stole the scenes he was in since day 1 so I'm glad he got his own show.

Haha, yep. They absolutely nailed this casting.

this totally looks like loki's redemption story.

we see all the new branches in timelines he caused...each one he closes off probably teaches him some sort of lesson.

i expect him to interact with frigga or odin much like thor did in endgame.

That's kind of my prediction. The key difference from prior events is, previously? Loki kind of fell his way into both villainy and redemption, both happening as he stumbled from one plan to another. Here, he might get the broader perspective on his life to actually *choose*, with prior intention, what kind of person he wants to be.

It's a dark costume in a dimly lit environment, it looks nothing like Black Widow. Different hair from when she died, and there's no possible narrative reason why her and Loki would meet up again. Anyone who thinks it could actually be Natasha would seriously need to reevaluate.

While ignoring that people fake-die all the time on Marvel and DC comics. Bringing up Superman's death and resurrection sets him into mansplaining mode. :funny:

Also ignoring the fact that, in movies, every single character that has ever "died" is only one reboot, prequel, or remake away from being "alive" again. The only thing that ever kills characters permanently is unpopularity.

As an aside, it just occurred to me that this show will give Loki, who has literally stabbed people in the back like 50 times, a chance to literally stab *himself* in the back. :)

I'll be curious to see how this further defines time travel since End Game, as well as, the Russo's and Hulk's comments in film. Wonder how much of this show they knew about when they made those comments as well.

WandaVision leaned in to the weirder elements of comic lore and was great. F&WS is taking a more straightforward and action packed approach which has also been really good. This may blend the 2 a little based on the trailer. Wasn't really into it before the trailer, was thinking they might take a more Kelvin type approach. However, after what we've received so far and that trailer I'm really looking forward to it.

I like, how the TVA looks like straight out of a 60’ies sci-fi series.

Wandavision proved that an interesting premise alone does not necessarily make a great show

So far Not a single character in Falcon & Winter Soldier is as 1 note and underdeveloped as Tyler Hayward was in Wandavision. This was one of the shows main villains yet in the end we barely know anything about him or why he was even doing what he is doing in the first place

plus he literally goes out like a scooby doo villian lol

In Falcon & Winter Soldier everybody, even the main villains gets a backstory. you may not like New Cap John walker, Zemo or the flag smashers but unlike Hayward at least I can understand where they all are coming from simply because the show actually took the time to develop their characters

Loki looks cool, but I hope the shows ends up being far more like Falcon & Winter Soldier when It comes characters development and less like Wandavision....

I just haven't found F&WS that engaging and interesting so far. WandaVision had a disappointing finale but held my interest throughout and I always looked forward to the next episode. F&WS isn't doing that so far. But I hope the next 3 episodes can make up for that.

I like John Walker and Zemo, it's only the flag smashers I have not been impressed with. I have my opinion on the show and you have yours. That's the be all and end all.

And to me Loki looks more interesting.

Honestly From what I am reading it does not sound like we really disagree that much at all

Like you I also looked forward to the next episode of Wandavision and like you I was let down by the finale. As I said in previous post wandavision had a very Unique and interesting premise, but in the end that was undermined by a rushed ending and weak villain like Hayward

In hindsight, all of the episodes leading up to that final end up being weaker because of that disappointing ending. For example the episode introducing us to Evan Peters as quicksilver will never be as cool now that I know that the his character is just there in order to set up a crude joke in the finale lol

Now in the case of Falcon and the winter solder I think the show is good for what it is but it definitely does not have the most intersting or unique premise. However it does do a great job when it comes to how it handles its characters and they have so far managed to avoid falling into the same kinds of traps that hurt wandvision in the end and hopefully Loki will also managed to avoid making those same kinds of mistakes because As you said the show does look more interesting than both Wandavision and Falcon and the winter solder

Also to be clear, I was not saying that the flag smashers are the greatest characters in the world. I was simply pointing that even they got far more backstory and character development than Tyler Hayward did in Wandavision

Yeah we really aren't disagreeing here. Only thing with the Flagsmashers though is they are meant to be the main villains (I appreciate this may end up being a red herring), Where as Hayward was a side villain with Agatha as the main villain. Hayward wasn't even introduced until episode 3 or 4.

the main vilain was Grief

So when do the "so and so is actually Mephisto" theories come up for this show?

So when do the "so and so is actually Mephisto" theories come up for this show?

To be fair I like that the s***storm of missing Mephisto and all the bitterness for Wandavision turns away into ironic jokes about it and noone seems to be more angry with the final (at least in my point of view what I readed).
