Transformers Lookey what I did....

Quick off topic question: What exactly does CINO mean? I know it has something to do with the Catwoman movie and when a movie sucks the first letter gets changed to match. Godzilla remake = GINO. What does it mean?

Everyone in here calm down and try to respect that not everyone views this film like you do,i'm weary of this type of heat so this is the only warning,if it continues i'm closing the thread

^has No Clue!

lol! Do you have scientific data that proves otherwise?

If not then I stand by my assertion that a Transformer movie could've been a multi-billion dollar franchise if executed properly. Instead it will fizzle out after a sequel like Charlie Angels and Tomb Raider.

I hope you get herpes from licking so much Micheal Bay ass crack.

pathetic. The hack turns a pop culture phenomenon into a referenceless, cliched invasion movie and you can't stop licking his butthole.

G1 Megatron farts in your general direction.

Same goes for you

Oh, so now that they gave you mod powers, you think you can push people around, huh? You think you can tell people what to do? HUH? :oldrazz: :D

You make a good point That Guy. As a huge TF G1 fan, I can honestly say that I don't think either TF the comic or the cartoon were all that stupendous that the movie need to be based on it 100%.

BUT, that doesn't mean that the movie can't be faithful to CORE elements that DID make Transformers great. The SCI-FI potential behind Transformers was awesome. This movie doesnt seem to be living up to that potential.

If anything, it's a parody. And much of it actually insults everything that Transformers was... from the Bizarro mixups of alt-modes and designs to actual plot itself. (Bumblbee a hot rod? Jazz a dwarf? Optimus Prime with Trick my Truck flames? No search for energy resources?). I mean, really, aside from the names of characters, in what way is this movie ACTUALLY Transformers???

Wait... Jazz is a dwarf? :wow: I hope not.

Anyway... I can see your point there... and in no way did I mean that studios should completely bastardize the source material for the sake of making an easy dollar. When that happens, you get crap like Catwoman. I sincerely HOPE that isn't what is happening here. But it may very well be... I've been trying to steer clear of a lot of the plot points and things because I hate going into a movie knowing EXACTLY what's going to happen.

While my knowledge of the plot of this film is somewhat limited right now (not only because I like to be surprised but also because I know that you can't always trust leaked scripts or even if you can, you might form a premature opinion about something before you give it a fair chance) there are some things that bother me, but others might make sense when we see them. I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen, it sounds like they may have merged the characters of Bumblebee and Hot Rod together. Some people may not like that concept, but it doesn't bother me... personally, I always liked Hot Rod/Rodimus better anyway; plus he did have a cooler name, so part of me wished they would have went with him. No matter though.

Anyway, I hope this movie doesn't turn out to be a parody, like you said. But it could. I unfortunately saw Bay's last movie, "The Island," which was nothing more than a long, boring chase sequence. It was so bad that I kept expecting Tommy Lee Jones to show up at some point, since all he ever does in movies anymore is chase innocent people.

Wait... Jazz is a dwarf? I hope not.

Jazz is 12 ft tall if I remember right. Bumblebee over 17 ft. That's the official word from Bay on his forums. Jazz is an Autobot dwarf.

On Wikipedia page it was said he was 15 feet tall I believe, and BB at 17 feet.

Hmm, well, a Solstice isn't a very big car, so I guess that makes sense (although the new Camaro isn't either). But I don't mind him being a little smaller as long as he's cool. Don't know if he will be, but I hope so.

that is completely uncalled for,god everyone needs to grow up,infraction given and maybe a probation when DL gets here
This one time someone on the internet said they hope I died. The next day I actually did die.

True story.

BTW I am grown up in real life. I come here to relive my childhood, no matter what ugliness that may bring up.

I love you HR :)

BTW, some Mod 101: Quoting my post before you delete it kind of defeats the purpose, don't you think?

Actually he is pretty much correct at least from what I have heard about the Don Murphy Boards. If you have any varying negative opinions about the movie those posters are banned.
Huh? I post there all the time and I'm a whiny f**ker. :word:

He picks and chooses who to go to war with. Sometimes you just say the wrong thing and he blows his top off and goes crazy. At least, that's the way it was last spring. Maybe he's calmed down recently.

If true, there's a few reasons it could've happened. More negativity back then, being lumped in with newbs who spew hate before disappearing forever, or catching the admin on a really bad day (<--). Although all extremely rare in my experience.

But yeah, it's subjective. There's regulars there who dislike everything TF related and one guy who's parading his 3rd account with zero comeback.

Even Prime himself has been banned there :oldrazz:

He definitely had it comin'. I took care of that one personally. :word:

The INO part stands for "In Name Only". So GINO is "Godzilla In Name Only" and CINO is "Catwoman In Name Only"

See I knew people would think I’m siding with bay, I’m not, nor am I siding with the people who are complaining about things

As I am not a fan of transformers and have never been I believe I am in a good position to have a good neutral view on this film

Are the of the designs wrong, yes and no, there are some ones that work well and some that don’t and there are some that people should have been fired for.

But I also believe that people, (like it is with all movies on this board) are now complaining for the sake of complaining.

I still stand by my original post in this thread, what ever side of the fence you stand on with this film, you are entitled to voice your opinion, but all this mentality of "ohh I’ll get him through my internet that will show them to rape my childhood loltehrolf" if just moronic and sad.

You want to voice your opinion do it in an intellectual and competent manor, and hopefully you wont come across a immature spoilt brat

Well said.

However, I think the makers of the movie already set the tone for the banter. Whereas many filmmakers responsible for movies discussed on these boards love the source material and are inspired by it-- oftentimes on a personal level-- (even if they sometimes miss the mark a bit like Bryan Singer with Superman), the folks most directly responsible for Transformers (Michael Bay, Don Murphy) are far from being fans.

In fact, they've often seemed to hate the source and suggest its simply a "toy commercial" or dumb cartoon. Their misguided "improvements" on it can only be for the best, right? A very similar idealogy plagued Godzilla 98 where the filmmakers made almost the same EXACT comments during the film's making ("this movie wont be a guy in a dumb rubber suit").

Transformers definately needed to be revamped. But some of the changes in the movie are really obvious parodies. And the filmmakers comments, treatment of fans, and disgust with the fans and source material only serve to rile up the fans more.

I would have to say you are indeed correct CFlash :( sad but more or less true.
