Speaking of food (and cake can't be considered as such....ick.....chocolate....sugar....ugh....). I decided I wanted to start pickling vegetables. At first, I was thinking cucumbers because my son likes pickles so much, but then I thought "Hmmmm.....what about pickling cucumbers AND carrots together?" and then I thought...."Hmmmm.....what about cucumbers, carrots, and shallots?" and then I thought....."Hmmmm.....what if I pickled tomatoes too (separately)?" and then I thought "Hmmmm.....what about zucchini......what about mushrooms? what about red or green onions?" and then I thought......Maybe I should make a salad......so I did.


So, now......what am I going to do with the canning jars?

I'm southern (Californian). We do things right....beer and pickled cucumber, carrots, and shallots.

It came out pretty good. I think, for most people, I would use slightly less vinegar, but I really like it. It's only been in less than a day and the pickes are really good. The carrots are too (super crunchy). I'll be doing some experimenting in the near future.......

I also forgot that I had some fresh dill on hand. I was making salmon with a cream sauce (heavy cream, parmesan cheese, lemon, and dill) and will use it next time.

Bloody hell! Power went out and now my PC been acting badly took me 5+ hours to get online, don't have a clue whats wrong, the error message that popped up didn't stay up long enough for me to write all those numbers going spend the time backing up some bookmarks and some other stuff I want to save. PC is almost 10 years old and maybe that power failure really messed things up too much for me to fix

Power outages can mess with computers like that. It's why I back up everything. I have so many pictures and videos, never mind all my writing.
