I'm 8 episodes into Fist of the Northstar, and that show is already formulaic and stale.
Villains hurt people, Kenshiro kills them. He sometimes tests their strength like Goku does, but it's not nearly as entertaining.

And they cut animation budget after the third episode so much that any scene has as much animation as a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis cutscene.
