normally, i go to a tree far and cut down my own christmas tree... theres those blue ones i like and make the house smell like christmas.... I was late this year. All they had was a charlie brown style tree.... at first i was disappointed.... now im thinking its not so bad... cause now i can use every single ornament i have and it will cover up the ****tyness of the tree....

I am not even christian... next year it might be a festivus pole.

on a real note... have you ever burned a christmas tree? i have and outdoor fireplace.... like the one you can roll around.... my friends (not me, i would never) got drunk and put one in there on new years eve. freaking thing flamed up like satans arrival... no **** the flame went up like 25 feet

A Christmas Carol is a ghost story, and most of it is unpleasant and even spooky. So I think there is justification to lean into those elements more.
