"I'm happy to disappoint you"
So far, Aliens appears to be one of the cases where the sequel is superior to the original. I hope that feeling lasts.

I liked all four Aliens movies.![]()
Despite how bad it was, Prometheus is still connected.I like the way you roll.I liked all four Aliens movies.![]()
Yes, still a lot of people prefer the original which is a slightly different type of film. But Aliens is one of the best sequels and one on my favorite films. After that the franchise is much weaker.
I prefer action, but that's not the reason I find Aliens to be better.I consider Aliens to be a different 'beast' than Alien. Alien is more of a horror movie while Aliens is one of THE 80's action movies that a lot of current movies draw from. I love them both but for different reasons.
I honestly don't think it's fair to compare the two for the same things. I mean most people will prefer action over horror.
Aliens was my jam.
DJ, got a question about song covers. What's the point in a relatively new band covering a classic song by an established band? It seems like it would invite unwanted criticism of the new band's flaws, some of which could be due to the listener's bias to the original band's work.
A lot of bands start out doing covers because it's easier to learn material that's already written. They start out playing material they like, and later on when they write their own music they incorporate elements of that material.
Bands that are already established often do covers of songs that are relatively unknown, even if they're by a famous band. It's also a way to pay tribute, like Metallica did with Garage Inc.
Yup, funny enough, a lot of up and coming bands start out as Christian rock bands since it's a lot easier to gigs that way so they can get practice playing out. Always makes me laugh when I think of that.
Some covers are pretty good. There's a game called Stubbs the Zombie from a decade or so back and the soundtrack has covers of older songs from a lot of bands. They're all really well done.
The game itself was freaking amazing. You were a zombie and got to start a zombie apocalypse in what was basically a futuristic 50's setting. I'm still sad we never got a sequel.
Here's the soundtrack list.
