How does GOTHAM keep getting renewed? It's going to use up every Batman villain before Bruce hit's puberty.

Smallville done right. :sly:

I do like Gotham more than Smallville. In Smallville, Clark basically fought all of his villains before putting on the costume. In Gotham, instead of Bruce being a vigilante without the bat motif, the crime fighting is done by Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock. And Gotham is more about the villains establishing themselves in the city so its the opposite of the comics where the villains turn up as a response to Batman, so in the show Batman will probably turn up as a response to all the freaks and villains like Penguin, Riddler, Joker, Et cetera

Almost done watching Suicide Squad for the first time.

LoL thats what I was thinking. Smallville had every villain turn up so by the time the show ended there was no point in Superman, he should have just retired.

It only needs one more season to get syndication and a bunch of $$$ for Fox and the crew, and rating has been decent and stable, so why not? :cwink:

and Penguin/Riddler/Galavan/Joker have been great so far.

And Jessica Lucas :hmr:

I just realized that Doug Liman is the second DCEU director to name a Richard Donner movie that will influence their DCEU movie. Patty Jenkins said Superman: The Movie was an influence for Wonder Woman and one of the movies Doug Liman named that will be influencing Justice League Dark is The Omen.
Whoever directs GLC will take inspirations from Lethal Weapon for the buddy cop aspect. :o

Richard Donner Extended Universe.

But superheroes fight the same villains multiple times all the time. With Superman, who rarely or never kills, it's even more of a possibility.

Because Gotham is a well done show (took an uneven first season but it got there, and part of this was due to the fact that it was one of the first cbm shows to fully understand that you need to split the season into two distinct arcs that flow into each other, otherwise the villain and their plot become overextended and everyone gets bored by the end of the season and can see all the twists and turns before they come), that is entertaining to watch, and has interesting characters to follow put in good; if a bit weird at times; storylines, and all of that accompanied by good acting.

Flash season 3 would be a good example of that.

Looks like we have our fist Wonder Woman official review (from Daily Star):

Arrow season 4 in terms of being boring and the villain suffering decay is also a good example. Now I don't believe it is impossible to do 20 episodes of the same villain and plot but it is difficult and takes really good writers to achieve it, something that isn't that common.

Ya saw that in the WW thread, where's the poster coming from exactly? Did they prove it's not photoshop?

Daily Star's a real thing and reflect the general consensus quite well...

So it's better than Logan and GOTG2? :oldrazz:

Maybe they photoshopped and deleted INE from the "Best SuperheroINE of the Year" =P

Buffy managed it pretty well in a few of their seasons. But then, it helped that their standalone/filler episodes were often standouts that didn't feel like filler.

Still, I firmly believe that TV shows should not have seasons that long. It waters everything down, from the writing to the production budgets, and they have far less pre-production and post-production time for each episode. EVERY show with seasons that long, regardless of how good they were, I feel would've been better with shorter seasons.

I enjoyed the 11 episode sagas for Gotham and ya Flash is a major example of dragging out too long, filled with love triangles and teenage angst s***.

For Gotham you get like Joker trilogy, Riddler trilogy etc here and there and it's great. The Riddler trilogy is hnnngh

Yeah, the trilogy structure is a the superior method to filling out the time between the dedicated A plot episodes, as it gives more time with the characters involved with said arc so we appreciate them more instead of jamming it all into one freak of the week episode.

I feel so low class wanting to see Baywatch. I refused to even watch the show and that was free! But The Rock and Zack make it look like fun.

I hate-watch Gotham at this point, BUT I can't disagree that it's arc structure is a pretty good way to go if you must have a long season like that.

I've seen some of the trailers for Baywatch, and while it doesn't look bad, my interest is only mild at best.

About that rumor of Affleck started training for Batman, is it for GCS!?

So only WW and JL left for me, fam. The only cbms I will ever see in theaters. If the Batfleck stand alone happens, it will be the only exception. I'm still excited for a few, but I shall wait till they hit home media.

it might be. training usually lasts 3 to 6 months. does that coincide with a reasonable start date for filming on the solo Batman movie? If not then I guess it could be GCS. This would dispel the rumor that he wants out. I doubt he'd sign on to more than what he's contractually obliged to do if he wanted out plus they'd be trying to phase him out rather than put him in more movies.

Not even Wan's Aquaman?
