When you enjoy something that is met with practically universal hatred and disbelief![]()
Need a bit more context on The Greatest Showman because I'm not seeing this universal perception.

Well the only people who seem to like it are Hugh's fans and we would like anything with him in it. But I frequent a lot of movie boards and it's 99% negative about it there. I did laugh though when someone just wrote "tragique!" as their reaction![]()
I still don't see Logan as having any major Oscar prospects, regardless of its release date.

Made it sound more dramatic as if Youtube was blowing up as well.
Looks like a probably "ok" flick that I'll never get around to seeing.

I said "major," lol. Not technical. And the Globes are always desperate for comedies so they always nominate the most random ****. The drama category is always stacked and Logan would never have been able to compete with all the other bait that comes out during that time, imo. Honestly, Hugh is still FAR more likely to be recognized by the Globes for The Greatest Showman even if it sucks, just because it's a musical and they can fit it in the comedy category. If it was Jackman's sole release this year and was released in Oscar season it would be. Reynolds singlehandedly promoted Deadpool to Globe nominations and that was released on Valentine's day.
And you know...Academy Award winner Suicide Squad![]()

I think the Oscars have proven time and time again that Oscar bait doesn't even have to be "good" to get nominated over stuff like Logan. "Mildy competent at best" Oscar bait will still get nominated over genre stuff in the major categories every time. Unless you're lightning in a bottle like TDK, and even then the biggest it got was Supporting Actor. The best actor race is a massacre this year but that's assuming all those films coming with Oldman and Denzel etc. are actually good. Of course DDL is locked because 'retirement, I'm gonna make dresses now' and all![]()
I'll probably see it 10 times regardless of how awful it's gonna be
Oh God, this poor man. This is like Pan all over again where he was so excited and legitimately thought he made an awesome movie people will love. Mind you, no way this can be as terrible as Pan was.

I just don't know what the hoopla is about outside of some saying the character he's supposed to be portraying is scum of the earth. The trailer definitely didn't give off any award season movie vibe.

They have a history of liking movies like that though, and even Bridges in movies like that. Logan is not Hell or High Water. It is, at the end of the day, a superhero flick about mutants, where Hugh Jackman slices and dices dozens of bad guys with his metal claws. That's a bridge the Academy won't be crossing for a long time.Sometimes they do go for legitimately amazing movies that don't seem that likely to score nominations. The single most entertaining movie I saw last year was Hell or High Water and that even scored very deserved Best Picture nomination. Granted, they still went with nomination for Bridges instead far more deserving Foster but it was still cool that the film got some love
Who's slagging off Huge Ackman in PAN?!?!?

A musical that is getting released on Christmas Day is one gigantic award season movie vibe![]()
Well, then it's obviously going to go Pitch Perfect 3. obviously.
I legitimately gave the movie 2/10 and those 2 points were just for him![]()
Christ what a trashfire
I was like ''It's Joe Wright! What can possibly go wro...WHAT THE F***?!''
And the CGI in that thing! My God!Sounds like he's bounced WRIGHT back with Oldman as Churchill though.

Whaaaa...? I never heard about this, lol.Whenever I think of Wright I always think of him dumping Rosamund Pike because she sent pictures of them in a hot tub as wedding invites![]()
